It sounds like part of my issue may be an incorrect charge then if stock is 22oz and the sweet spot is only another 7oz. Admittedly most of the freon I used went to enlarge the ozone hole.

Also that longer suction line would benefit more than just the JLT cars. I'm hoping the worst is behind me. The chiller works great at the track but I feel like it should be colder.

I am on a 2.50 upper though. It's like low 40's with a bumper bar reservoir, 3 way valve and stock pump.

I'll revisit the install next year. There's drag week coming up and I just need it to survive for now. Lol

Test & tune is next weekend, so we’ll see how it does. I highly recommend taking it to a small shop to have it professionally evacuated and charged. You already spent so much on it, might as well charge it right

How cold can you get it at idle? I don’t know what mine will do on the track temp wise

On the 2.50 combo dead idle it's only been down to about 37-39* - lately about 42. It does better in more optimal conditions obviously. There's a lot of 42* water with the bumper bar res so coolant temps stay reasonable. starting IAT1 can be over 155 and IAT2 is JUST getting to 145 at the top end after a good hot lap and running in the lanes to keep coolant temp low.

MAT's are what kills us though. IATs could be as cold as ice, if the MAT is still 120*+ the timing will be pulled. Been trying to figure out how to keep it cool in the staging lanes but to not avail.

Yep. Is that why you were wondering about flipping the switch? I wonder what difference it would make. I have an idea I’ll share with you if you’re still 3d printing. All I ask is for a set of them.

MAT is derived from the 4 map sensors.

You can change the voltage in each map sensor to read differently, just need to get the math right to get them to read closer to IAT (if that’s even safe to do). Or, I have a bolt on hypothesis

The MAT isn’t really a true reading anyway because some of the sensors are in dead air zones, which is why they read so high

But it is the reading that pulls spark.

So then MAT is what I'm calling IAT2...Post Blower Air Temp? I only use IAT1 (pre blower) and IAT2 (post blower) terms because that's how GM's are commonly notated and IAT2 is what influences timing in that case.

I've had adjustments done to some of the Thermal limits as I'm on E85 that is always 85+% ethanol and we're comfortable running them a bit higher. On the street tune (flex & 2.95) it's all stock now that we have the chiller.

Look at the tables for spark. You will see MAT is selected and not IAT. Log MAT and you will see when exactly it exceeds the dead band and pulls timing.

Following @fumanchu182 ‘s excellent suggestions and how-to and adding some vibrant extreme wrap to the suction line - should be here before the track

How long can this system be under load before it heat soaks?

i.e., 1/4m is ~10secs, 1m is ~30sec, 2.5m road course is 2:20m/lap (but under varying loads obviously)

Chiller worked it’s magic. Pb on 60’ and et by a little lol. Car is very consistent when it hooks. They had to scrape the track for an hour because someone blew their diff at the line. Shook wheels twice. These passes were clean IMG_1894.jpeg IMG_1902.jpeg

Yes, I’m slow. But I’m upper pulley, intake and e85. Not too shabby. Can do better in the launch, that’s just stabbing it on green
