Thinking about a staggered set-up for a little more off the line grip and am leaning towards this tire/wheel size combination.

Anyone running this set-up for a daily driver? Likes, dislikes, pros and/or cons? Understeer a concern?

Hope you get some good responses as I am also considering this exact setup except on a Charger.

315 isn't going to fit on the back of a Challenger without poking outside of the fenders some or the alternative is that you'll get some rubbing inside the fender depending on your wheel offset.

That being said, I run this wheel and tire setup on my wife's Charger Hellcat with no issues.

Thanks for the reply.

Is that really true, the rubbing or sticking out? I spoke to a vendor who said a 20x11 with 21 offset would not have any rubbing/trimming and would be a perfect fitment. Maybe that is incorrect though and what I am trying to figure out in this thread.

Maybe a 305 square set-up is a better option, if that can be fit?

305 isn't going to fit on the front for a square setup, it would poke out badly beyond the fenders. With a Challenger you can go with a 275/40 up front and a 305/35 on the rear without any issues. On a Charger, you can go with a 315/35 on the rear, it will JUST barely poke but won't be obvious from most angles, its really right at the limit.

Charger here:

I have 20 x 10 upfront with the stock Pirelli All Season 275's. 20 x 11 in the rear with 305 555r. It's not my daily driver. 20/20 offset, hooks like a m*****f**** with no rubbing.

Slight poke out the rear, you can definitely see it if you were to drive behind the car. I like it though, rear profile looks so much better than before with the stock 275s out back.

What I don't like about the 305/35 is that the rolling diameter is slightly off, where as the 315/35 is as good as you can get on a staggered set-up.

So are you saying the 315/35 on the rear of a Challenger will slightly poke out, but not have rubbing issues using a wheel sized at 20x11 with 21 offset? So the only negative is a slight stick-out, maybe 1/4" - 1/2"?

2018 Challenger T/A 392.
I ran 275/40/20 front on 9.5" OEM rims, and 305/35/20 rear on an 11" MRR rim with 24 offset with Firestone indy 500 summer tires. This was my daily for 22,000 miles from April to Thanksgiving this year.
I had to trim a slight bit of the inner well plastic at the back because it was curled some. Maybe a 1/4" No biggie.
No poke past the fender. No issues, no problems. No rotation and the tires wore evenly across. Rears wore 2x as fast as the fronts. When I took them off last month, the fronts had prob 7/32s Rears were at 4/32s and are a few good burnouts from needing replacement. Car had no weird handling issues and seemed to turn easier out of the corners. Def

The 315 tires are wider enough that Im told Id have to put in a 3mm spacer and possibly heat gun to form the plastic wheel well back in some spots to keep the tire from rubbing. Theyd fit though. 305s fit these rims but they have room to easily fit a 315. More room on a charger and spacer isnt necessary. Cant speak for what 21 offset will give you.

Id talk to one of the wheel fitters here on the boards who have done a lot of custom stuff for guys and see what they suggest you should go with.

The 315 will either poke or rub or both. Been there done that and other sizes. The recommendation of 275 front 305 rear is spot on for the regular body Challenger. The Charger has more room in the rear.

Thank you for this post/feedback and the pics. That 3mm spacer most likely brought the offset from 24 to 21, and why the Hellcat vendor I am speaking to said the 20x11 with 315/35 would fit.

Really appreciate this and why I asked the question. One of the Hellcat vendors said a 20x11 with 315/35 will be a direct fit, no spacers, no trimming, no rubbing, no problems.

So that's why I would love to hear from more about this size and if it requires any trimming.

Does anyone make exact-replica-but-11" wide wheels in that offset for the Hellcats? I don't want a ghetto-tier look for the car, but more of a factory-look-on-steroids.

Also, is there any reason to not go a few more mm wider? 325? 335? 11" rim should be nice and stable with a bit more tread width. As long as I don't have to trim anything structural, I don't mind getting in there with a dremel. Of course, I could just make a mockup out of plywood and put some really coarse sandpaper on it and spin it to auto-trim anything in the way, but I don't want to find a fuel line or something :DD

Forgestar custom makes offsets, and that is what I am looking at for my set-up. Had their wheels on a former BMW and they were excellent.

Dremel is fine for me, I just want to know what I am tackling before making the purchase.

I haven't seen a 315/35 tire fit on the back of a Challenger yet that didn't rub or poke, regardless of offset. You MIGHT be able to get a 315 Nitto drag radial to fit, but only because they run narrow.

I’m running a 315 tire in the rear on a 11 inch replica with no issues on my Challenger! It looks badass with that staggered look.315/35/20 traction is awesome. Who's rims you using and what offset? Those are exact replicas of my RE rims and would match perfect. Also those tires are Nitto's correct? @Blkout, as I have read elsewhere, said they run a little narrow so maybe that's why the success. BTW don't want to steal the thread but how's the King Kong cam doin'?

11.5 with correct offset so no inner wheelwell mods required.

Nitto's might be the only exception since they tend to run a little narrow but not everyone wants to run a drag radial daily though. For non-drag radial street tires, a 315 isn't going fit on a Challenger without poking or rubbing.

I don't know how much trimming it would take to make a 325 or 335 fit without poking out. The only way I know to do it is like @Hunter and I did using a custom offset wheel and Phillips Performance flares. With the flares and the right offset, you can run a 335 or 345 tire on the rear.
