Porsche is a great ride (at the upper tiers) but way too expensive for me.

There was a Buick version of that chassis too, 4x4 etc... also did not sell well but my super-frugal dad picked one up for next to nothing. Did not give a damn how it looked, just how capable it was and how much value for the dollar. Driving into town from Houston one night about 3 a.m. was passed up by one that looked just like my dad's running about 115 (probably its top end!). lol, wasn't my dad though.

such a great guy. miss him. when he retired he wanted a new cadillac so he went down and camped out at the Chev dealership, bargaining with them. Every day. All day. LOL. He had decided before hand what he wanted to pay, and what he though the car was actually worth. And he loved to haggle. He wore those guys down. Near the end they were saying "Just come up a hundred dollars and you can have the car!" and he'd say, "Just come down a 100 and you have the sale." I think they sold just to get him to go away.

I have connections to order new ones if you guys are interested, I don't know how much over msrp they are going for now but the new ones are like $190k. If you ordered a gt3 last year at msrp you could potentially flip it for 50-100k over msrp.
Those prices are nuts, huh? Buddy of mine purchased a GT3RS a couple of years ago. All I’ll say is he got a great deal.

I wasn't going to respond to this, but after thinking about it, here is my .02

Corvette is unique, in it's an American "hyper" sports car.

I suppose you can broaden the scope of what competes and compares with it, but to what extent?

In comparison, what competes with the Challenger Hellcat?

Nothing...

If you have a different opinion, that's fair, but that's for you to decide, is it not? i.e., what is or is not a comparable MSRP? What is or is not comparable features or performance?

A GTR snaps your neck, the Hellcat compresses your lungs, very different cars and I think you'll find the GTR handles more to your liking. You have to be going at at a high pace even on damp roads to loose traction but if you do then keeping your foot and hands still and it will recover itself. Braking not quite as sharp as the the HC and they can suffer from fade as they get hot quickly if you need to work them on consecutive tight corners but generally you couldn't complain.

I've had 3 GTRs which were all daily drivers - to and from work, shopping etc and they are comfortable enough and just as easy in slow traffic as they are at speed. On longer highway journeys of a couple of hours or more they can seem a bit loud but you only notice it after you turn the engine off.

You might think too expensive but you won't get HP and speed for small money. They come with high spec and even though prices have increased over the years I think they are still good value for the performance and when compared to anything German.

Dealer near me has a gt3 not even the rs for 125k above sticker.

I think the rs are going over msrp at 2,3 and 4 years old

Maybe you should expand your horizons & also stop trolling
You posted this exact same thread on the other Hellcat forum.

The answer to your question though, is obvious to me. Fast, comfortable, sporty, etc... Accept no substitute.

The list has broadened tbh

Challenger hellcat competitors (price aside)= m8, m8 gc, rs7, amg gt63, amg gt73, amg gt (coupe), r8, etc etc

Charger hellcat competitors (price aside)
M5, e63, awd m3, awd m4, rs6, rs7,

Really the only competitors I see for the charger are the Germans, with the redeye pushing damn near 95k I think it's safe to say cross shopping an m5 that's 120k is within the realm of possibility seeing as how they torch demons from a dig and go pound for pound with the hellcat on a roll.

You could say zl1 and gt500 but I feel like they are more track focused cars and aren't as comfortable if we are talking challenger hellcat, c8 z06 at 100k is another competitor with a 0-60 of 2.6 in that body I'm sure it's also a 10 second car, again definitely not as comfortable as a challenger but probably handles a heck of a lot better.

I know this is a hellcat forum but the hellcat does truly provide the best bang for buck, most of the competitors I listed are 120k+, and that's why so many are quick to just buy or suggest another hellcat @NeverEnough but while the hellcat is the best bang for buck it's far from the best car out there and many of those cars are faster, more luxurious and provide more consistent numbers at least on the street at a much higher cost.

Is “cross shopping” some kind of LGBQT thing?

Yes I agree, way up.. I remember looking at lightly used ZR1s mid specs for 120-125k. Probably should have bought one.. oh well

What about the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS? Not near the horsepower, but one hell of a driver. It lacks in the comfort department though.
