None of us knew at the time these cars were, not just the end of and era, but that would someday become such valuable collector items.
We drove them like we stole them and had a great time. They just took a lot of work to keep running.

Spark plugs, valve lash and carb jets after almost each pass. Read and adjust.

Thanks guys for letting me share some of my rides. (My 440+6 I raced in the Nevada Open Road Races back in 2002).

Had a blast and finally had enough room to peg that 150 mph speedometer. Was radar clocked at 151.6. Those two lane roads get awfully narrow at that speed, especially in a 40 year old car!

That's the huge monstrosity of a "Best of Show" trophy I won last year. It weight 73 lbs! My wife wouldn't let me bring it in the house. I painted and put it in my yard as 'yard art'.

I had a 1970 Challenger TA. Street and Drag raced it to death. Sold it when I came back from the AF. Needed a normal ride for moving on in life.
Watched it leave on a rollback, never to be seen again.
Had a 1970 Challenger R/T 440 Magnum.
Sold it while in the Army.
One of my big regrets.

What was the distance? And how were you able to stop?
