That's what I've heard. My neighbor went down and picked one up and saved a lot of money. My problem is I want to customize one, so I'm looking at new.

I like ATC, but Jesus, somehow I can't bring myself to fork out $35-40K on a damn trailer...
40 grand...for something with 4 wheels...and no motor???....let your wife know when the fever breaks...:eek:

I got the eyeball just a few minutes ago while I was explaining the day's investigation into the new trailer.

Tow bars are cheap .

I know nothing about trailers so I would have to see comparisons to see which looks better / price.

Intensive OCD counseling is expensive after I pick rocks out of the SRT badge in the grill.

I'm happy with my 24 ft steel Haulmark. It's very budget friendly and I've made it into a nice traveling home for my car.
I do wish I had an escape door though. It's on the mod list.

My only real issue is that steel is too heavy for any real destinations I have.

If my only destination was HPR, I'd be fine with steel, but anything further, it's too heavy.

I could go with steel, but then I'd have to upgrade the truck, and that I don't want to do.

If your doing highway driving for extended periods of time and you drive at high speeds be sure to upgrade to better tires. Some tires will blow out if you do long runs and be sure to ask.

I've had 25 or so trailers over the last 40+ years, and currently own 5. Here's my opinion, in the enclosed trailer segment, #1. Intech, #2, ATC, after that there are some good / decent trailers but usually with a fair amount of compromises, which may or may not bother you. Make sure to "test pull" the trailer you decide on before purchasing, some trailers pull unbelievably bad. And depending on your age, size ect, make sure it has an escape door, even if you plan to winch the car into the trailer, the escape door is going to come into play sooner or later. 28' Intech: intech.jpg intech-1.jpg intech-2.jpg

Trailers for road racing, drag racing, motorcycle racing - both dirt and road, jetski trailers, horse trailers, open trailers for hauling jeeps/off roading & 4 wheelers, big trailers, medium trailers, barely in fit in trailers, and a lot of trial & error.

Agree. Really can't have too many trailers.
At this point I probably have about 20, and each has its purpose. Some more so than others.
And maybe I have a bit of a trailer fetish.

You win.
I only transport my own stuff, so as far as Class 8 stuff goes, I only have two 28' vans, a 24' dropdeck flatbed, and a con gear.
Then again, even if I only hook up the 24-footer behind one of the 28s, I'm still longer than your measly 53-footers.
