Ok, so I made the decision to go after a new enclosed aluminum trailer.

I previously had a steel 8.5 * 24 United trailer, buy I lost it to two large hail storms because the insurance totaled it.

Now I'm considering either a 8.5 * 24 or 26, but aluminum, and in the ATC brand, this is primarily because it's what's available in the region (and because they're a good quality brand in aluminum trailers, or so I've heard)

The question is are there any other brands that members have good, direct experience with. The ATC brand is pretty good quality, but for whatever reason, they're also very expensive. I've heard that if I'm willing to go down to Texas, I can save many $1Ks.

So which brand do you all like?

Not sure if they make an aluminum or not but a friend that races regulary up and down the east coast has a Millenium and it has held up wonderfully. Seems to be well constructed.

That's what I've heard. My neighbor went down and picked one up and saved a lot of money. My problem is I want to customize one, so I'm looking at new.

I like ATC, but Jesus, somehow I can't bring myself to fork out $35-40K on a damn trailer...

I drove all the way to Texas to buy mine. Check out Waco Bill in Dallas. Bravo is one of the aluminum trailers they sell. I would also consider the 28’. That’s what I got and that extra space will be appreciated. Take my word on that.

So far this is where I'm at

inTech
Bravo
ATC (too expensive, certainly compared to others in the same class!)

I don't know if you guys have many toll roads out your way but would a 28’ trailer have three axles.

Depends, not normally, at least not in the ones I'm looking at.

Hey Bull you need to stay under 26k gross rating on your truck and trailer to avoid CDL.
So in essence most axles on bigger trailers are 6k rated meaning a two axle trailer will be rated at 12k. Most 1 ton trucks have a 14k GVW rating so combined truck and trailer equal 26k. If you go to a Tripple axle which I know your not but you would be over 26k. And some aluminum trailers only use 3500 lb axle ratings since the Trailer is so light,

I'm going to go see the local distributor tomorrow for the Bravo. If that doesn't go well, I'll check out inTech. They are my preference, but there isn't any local sales, so I'll end up driving for it.

Just so you know the Intech trailer owners and some employees used to work for ATC and some years back went off on their own. Some in the industry believe the Intech is the best trailer.
