Find out if there’s power to the pumps. Test run the pumps by hooking them up to 12 volt battery directly and see if they run, just a quick blip, don’t run them long if they run. Like a split second only if their not in fuel.

I think I've got some spare pumps in the tool box if you need. They're 285s.

Thanks @Speedy! ! Are they new? I may need to see what you want for them. Checked The 30 amp fuse, isn’t blown or burnt. Will be pulling the hat again later this week (screw driver and sledge is getting sketchy with a plastic tank, ordered the tool) when I can push the car back outside to work on it and the ring tool comes. I’ll laugh (even if I’m a moron) and the fuel line somehow shot itself off from the pressure because it wasn’t seated all the way (even though it clicked). I can be hopeful, anyway. But if not, putting them on the bench and applying power to em, and then reading the resistance on the brand new fuel level sender to make sure that’s not bad. Does anyone know if the same fuel level card can be used on the passenger jet? Have some diagnostics to do, but we’ll see how it goes. Probably not a bad idea to replace the pumps while in there, but need to get new o rings and what not from Fore as well as pumps

Was just swimming in fuel because nothing siphoned over to the other half of the saddle and was overfilled. Ran to harbor freight and got a battery powered fluid pump. Worth its weight in gold.

so, I look, and I see what I was hoping to see. The line shot off the for fitting, just as I expected. Not sure how, it clicked. I put it on EXTRA good this time. Will be taking it easy in case it happens again. If so, not sure what the next course of action is. Letting some fuel evaporate before I reconnect battery

The siphon siphons fuel from passenger side to driver side. Driver side will always be pretty full compared to the passenger side until you’re a bit below half tank on the fuel gauge.

Very good to know Z (makes sense after looking at the jet pump). Welp, it was fine until it wasn’t. Was logging, was fine. Shut car off, started and died. 3 psi, so it blew off again, so I’m thinking the quick connection is wiped. Does anyone know where that goes to? Looking like I’m going to have to replace that line

Oof. That doesn't sound like fun. Do the lines just kinda lay out across the saddle inside the tank?

Yep, should be easy enough to fish across. Going to pull them again in the morning and mess around with the dumb clip. It’s was on all the way, I guess I’m going to have to test prying it off next time. Good news is it was seeing 56-60 psi at idle and almost 80 on a quick rev

Time for fuel pumps round 50. Few things im doing. Pulling hat, draining fuel (again), and using a pic to see if I can get the retention clip on the quick disconnect to set correctly on fire fuel hat connection. Unplugging fuel level sensor on driver side to see if fuel level still reads (would indicate the fuel level sensor on jet pump is bad). If still having the problem, I could pull the jet pump with the line/fitting and see if the clip is serviceable/replaceable, but I don’t believe it is. You have to push down on it to release, it’s not the same as the clip for the fuel rail, for example. Could maybe cut it off if I could find the correct fitting, and tried to heat up the hose to melt/bond/shrink around the new fitting, but doubtful. Gotta love plastic.

Also wanted to point out there’s zero build up, sludge etc from running e85 straight for 40k+ miles/ 6 or so years.

zero slime.

😑 but again, the harbor freight battery operated liquid transfer pump is probably one of the best things I’ve ever bought there. Drained 5 gallons in a minute IMG_4934.jpeg

Go to the auto store. We get replacement clips for Peterbilt def lines there. Comes in the help section

Or like Speedy said, pull the lock out and run a ziptie behind the lip on the fuel pipe on the pump. Once you remove the lock you will see how to do it.

Ah, I see now. Wasn’t quite sure what Speedy meant by zip tie lol. I wonder is anyone knows what size and everything the clip is. Edit: according to the fore fitting number it’s 1/2” like the rest of the fuel system

Dorman 800-040 it looks like (1/2”). Might be in luck at O reilly have them ripping apart the store for the 1 they’re supposed to have in stock. Edit: They found it. Should do the trick, we’ll see. Thanks for the suggestion @catdad
