My stock driveshaft was on my car for 2 days . It has about 100 miles on it lol.

For the purposes of using the car I'd pop it back in. For the purposes of abusing the car (racing) I'd recommend you follow your gut.

But, keep in mind that the better DS shops are going back to a two piece shaft. Aluminum isn't as strong as steel of equal size - in a torque monster I would choose high quality steel.

I just despise hanger bearings. That would be the new weak point imo.
But what do I know. My Turbo Buicks have stock ds in them. LOL

Don't race the stock shaft. Not worth the risk. I've seen a couple break and tear up the car. They tend to pretzel when they fail.

Well folks it's time to call it a race season . I want to get the right driveshaft and not rush into things . I got very lucky on this failure and I don't want to push my luck.
My ultimate goal was 9.99 on pump gas ..... I think I have achieved that goal and then some! I am shocked and amazed at what this car has done so far [email protected] with a 1.41 60 foot . Also 30,000 kms( 20,000 miles) and just over 100 drag strip passes . I have a few upgrades planned for over the winter months . A few have been shelved due to the driveshaft debacle but that's ok . I have lots of time to play with this car .

Congrats on your 2019 success buddy. 9.71 at 142 on pump gas in a Hellcat. Just crazy. Don't tell Dragrcr he's liable to get all prickly LOL.

If you are not fully confident in your tuner and YOUR capabilities then I don't suggest following in my foot steps( or is it tire tracks ) . With the help of Mike from OST Dyno I "snuck' up on everything gradually. But if a person is careful these cars are capable of great things . My goal for next season is 9.5's on pump gas with 1 can of race gas / octane booster BUT no changes to my tune .
