People also need to read the cage rule jon brought this up.
8.99 and/or 150mph a cage is needed

add taking out seats you are removing air bags need cage

light weight brakes are not factory need cage
15 inch rears need cage
There never was anything on brakes unless something changed. So you are not removing a safety devise being it still has brakes. I always that it was strange you can have drum brakes and go 150mph:unsure:

Also cars were sold without passenger seats

It still will have antilock brakes so they would be unaltered in their function
Smaller lighter brakes are not factory.
cars without pass seat still has working Air bags in drivers seat. When you remove drivers seat or pass seat with cars that have two seats you changed safety system

Some cars were sold with no passenger seat so that is a grey area. If you are not disconnect the airbag it is still there

Another grey area on brakes cause I read it as the antilock function needs to work

I don't use the tpms on race wheels. They look like trouble to me.

Roger that on the drum brakes. Always made me chuckle, even back in the day.

The air bags do not work when you move the passenger seat. You have to buy a plug to make them work.

If no one is in the passenger seat do that side even go off in an accident? I was thinking on the plug, Ron sells those

I have a lot of weight removed, airbag system is still active. If you’re competing, then you have money for a cage and don’t care about welding a cage in your car. If you’re doing test and tunes or “private” competitions, up to tech but don’t run an 8 and you’re fine.

At the end of the day what’s your life worth? Guys want to go fast a part can break at any time. How many have a diaper? You can break the beams wait a little bit then go 150 out the back. I don’t want a cage in my car but as fast as my car is it’s necessary even on a track rental

I only trap 142, I’m not in big boy territory yet. I agree about the diaper, but you shouldn’t be running your car on the ragged edge unless you know your machine and should be prepared (diaper/belly pan, shoot, cage). You have more of a chance of dying on the highway than you do at the track, so you have a cage in your daily? Food for thought. Cage is for rollover, that’s it. I’m not sure I’ve seen a challenger roll unless someone runs into them

No my daily is a C7 corvette in summer. Hellcat gets about 2000 miles per year.

and a cage is just more than roll over it’s also about impact. And making chassis stronger
