RECAP OF MY TRANSMISSION REPAIR
TRANS CONCERNS WERE SLIPPING IN 2ND AND I KNOW I SAID 3RD EARLIER BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY THE 3RD TO 4TH SHIFT ,UPON DISASSEMBLY WE FOUND BOTH E AND D CLUTCHED BURNT ,ALL OTHER CLUTCHES STILL LIKE NEW ,NO CONTAMINATION WAS FOUND AND OTHER THEN MY STATEMENT OF ME DOING PULLS ON THE INTERSTATE IN STREET INSTEAD OF TRACK TO BE CAUSE OF FAILURE (LISTEN TO YOUR TUNER WHEN HE SAYS RUN IT IN TRACK MODE !!!)
SOLENOIDS WERE SENT TO ERICSON INDUSTRIES FOR FLOW TESTING AND PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS ( BIG THANKS TO NAOH AT ERICSON)
THANKS TO ROY BAKER SENIOR TECHNICAL ADVISOR AT ALTO USA WAS NICE ENOUGH TO SEND ME G3 PERFORMANCE CLUTCHES AND KOLEEN STEELS TO ASSIST IN THE REBUILD ,ALSO EDDIE AT SHR WAS ALSO HELPFUL AND KIND ENOUGH TO SHARE INFORMATION ON THE TRANSMISSION AS WELL

I WAS ABLE TO GET THE C LUTCH PACK FROM 7-9 CLUTCHES BY USING KOLEEN AND FACTORY STEELS AND ALTERNATING BETWEEN THE G3 AND THE HIGH ENERGY CLTUCHES CLEARANCE SET AT 70 THOUSANDTHS
D CLUTC PACK WENT FROM 5 CLUTCHES TO 7 ALL KOLEEN STEELS 6 G3 CLUTCHES 1 HIGH ENERGYT CLUTCH CLEARANCE SET AT 60 THOUSANDTHS
E CLUTCH WENT FROM 7-8 CLUTCHES ALL G3 CLUTCHES MIXTURE OF KOLEEN AND FACTORY STEELS CLEARANCE SET AT 70 THOUSANDTHS
A CLUTH FROM 6 TO 7 CLUTCHES ALL G3 CLUTCHES AND KOLEEN STEELS SET TO 60THOUSANDTHS
B CLUTCH WAS REPLACED WITH ALL HIGH ENGERY CLUTCHES AND FACTORY STEELS NO CHANGES WERE MADE SET BACK AS IT CAME
TORQUE TO YIELD BOLTS IN PAN ,AND FRONT AND REAR PUMP ASSY (I REPLACED MY PAN BOLTS WITH STEEL ,I ALSO FOUND BOLTS THAT WOULD WORK PEFECTLY IN THE REAR OF THE PUMP THAT ARE STEEL AS WELL (MAY USE IN THE FUTURE REBUILDS
FACTORY 8HP ATF WAS USED
FILLED THE TRANS ,RESET ALL ADAPTIVES I FIRST RAN IT ON THE RACK SEVERAL TIMES THRU THE GEARS, THIS STARTS THE ADAPTION WITHOUT A LOAD ON THE CLUTCHES (IMPORTANT NOTE DO NOT STOP THE TRANS ON THE RACK WHILE WHEELS ARE SPINNING PUT IT IN NEUTRAL FIRST THEN STOP THE WHEELS NOT DOING SO CAN BE VERY HARD ON THE PUMP STATOR AND CONVERTER AS WELL AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE ) RAISED THE VEHICE AGAIN AND TOPPED OFF WITH FLUID
I TREATED THIS LIKE I DO THE ZF TRANSMISSIONS IN THE BMW ,I DROVE IT EASY THE FIRST 5 RUN THRU THE GEARS ,STARTING IN FIRST NOT GOING OVER 2000 RPMS THRU THE FIRST 5 SHIFTS THEN UP TO 8TH GEAR AND MODERATELY SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP WAITING 15 SECONDS THEN REPEAT 4 TIMES MORE I THEN TESTED SPORT MODE A FEW TIMES AND THEN TRACK MODE
IN MY EXPERIENCE FOLLOWING THESE STEPS GENERALLY ALWAYS TURNS OUT GOOD THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLYS AND TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE THREAD IT WAS BOTH FUN AND IMFORMATIVE
