Dropped in some new injectors thanks to @Jon-MooredPerformanceLLC its interesting to see that FIC data uses the whole table where ID does not. The Inj PW vs FM data is wonky but after a couple of idle sessions and some street driving I’m sure it will be fine.

I do have to say I like the construction of the FICs more than the ID, but like the ID data better. Also got a new belt and TBA thermostat housing to put on.

Wanted to do it all today but wound up helping a friend tig weld an exhaust. Anyway if you are in the DMV and need some light welding, hit me up.

initial tune is ready, will follow up again tomorrow

Id say we are decently dialed in for maybe about 1.5 hrs of messing around.

So one of the things I noticed was with one pump on and then not at 5PSI yet with 1650CC injectors.

Pump 1 was screaming. So what I am going to do is switch the triggers. I am going to have 2 and 3 trigger as normal and then pump 1 will trigger when above 5psi. I'm glad I caught this by always reviewing logs.

Yep I hear the injector data is way better with FIC and they idle way better. Never liked my id1300x2s

id data is way better from the factory but once dialed in at idle for sure they are way better than ID's so far, when I go WOT we will see what they bring to the table soon...

I like the idea of running 2 pumps and having the third as the "on when needed" for a setup like yours.

Alternative is the three FPCM setup which also works well. You def don't want all three pumps WFO all the time.

My ID1300x have been great injectors. Easy to dial in. I think it comes down to what a tuner gets used to honestly, 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other.

I like the Idea of 3 FPCM's using all 3 pumps equally to maintain the requested pressures. No need to put premature wear on one or two by overworking them.

I'm not familiar with a return system like @fumanchu182 has, do those still use multiple FPCMs or just one and the rest are off a voltage source?

All the ones I've seen with the return system, use the 1 FPCM then use boost reference for the remaining 2 pumps. with one running full time. I've seen this same system on 2 other platforms burn up the primary pump right around the 1 year mark on both builds. Those were the reason I chose to go with the system I have. If I ever need to upgrade again it will be to a single brushless kit from ID.

I don't care for the boost ref setups. My car makes 5psi at 1/4 throttle. Maybe a 3rd pump boost ref is a good compromise if that works with a return.

In my mind a Hobbs switch is a more likely fail point than a fpcm.

None of them use the FPCM. The FPCM is just used as a trigger. On the FC3 it will turn on the pump if the voltage is > 6.5v (tapped from the fpcm) othewise it is off. The pump is not pulse with modulated like in a factory setup. However a single 525 with E85 and 5PSI is not going to keep up at all.

All the ones I've seen with the return system, use the 1 FPCM then use boost reference for the remaining 2 pumps. with one running full time. This is what I'm trying to prevent. Pump 1 went screaming in duty cycle under 5psi with large injectors, over a year of use of that would be an issue and of course the pump would be burn up because until the other two kick in it's basically sending itself into oblivion.

I don't care for the boost ref setups. My car makes 5psi at 1/4 throttle. Maybe a 3rd pump boost ref is a good compromise if that works with a return.

I could do two things. Switch the trigger wires and have the third kick on with the hobbes or just put pump 2/3 on a hard switch however that puts me in dire straits if on the high way and I need to accelerate and the engine is starved for fuel.

I think running two pumps on two FPCMs is good for the PWM, and then figure out how the 3rd gets activated? Maybe third pump is just simple Hobbs switch. Can you get a Hobbs that activates higher than 5psi? Like 10 maybe?

Made my first WOT pass tonight to see how far it can be pushed, saw a healthy 20psi on 2.85 and 10% lower. The other two pumps kicked on instantly so I'm not even worried about it.

She's moving some good air. Best part is, still on stock FIC data for that air. Only lean by about 2%.

1676092635629.png

Making a small adjustment to enrich the fuel trim and also, racing tomorrow in no-prep 1/8th mile. Just need test data so I figured it's a good time to test the IC chiller, the suspension, new trans.

50 percent duty cycle on the 1650s 🤣 time to push more air. Where is that smaller pulley At?
