The pilot bearing/bushing isn’t a big deal. I shaved down a harbor freight slide hammer attachment to get my m6 one out
Have you seen the glazed donut trick?

just in case you have never worked with motion before:
  • Order placed 1229
  • Pre ship notification 1700
  • Shipped notification 1933
Item was discounted 6% (debatable as everyone has spiked prices or artificially inflated and then discounted and I dont have historical prices so 🤷🏻‍♂️)
Govx 5% off (always hopeful, never expected)
Free Shipping

Would give it an 11/10 rating, will buy from again. I know @Marc W runs the NRG setup but has anyone tried a motion hub/quick disconnect for the steering wheels, if not NRG will be ordered soon
I have the NRG because that was over 4 years ago and most of what we enjoy today was not even heard of yet. What I’ve got in that case is fine and there’s no reason to replace it. Starting today from scratch I would probably go with MR.

I notice that’s the factory m6 trans crossmember, they don’t make that adapter for the a8 crossmember?

I have, and it did not work and neither dead bread or soap. Pilot bearing for m6 was in there and corroded good

So do you think you lose any power down low?
Why do you think this is a thing?

Saw a before/after dyno comparison video but no tuning adjustments were made, was low boost and pump gas. Made about 35 peak whp/torque gain, but looking at the curve power was lost in the lower rpms. Basically no gain until 6500 rpm. But not an apples to apples comparison.

You usually see the same thing with tunnel rams too, you give up low end for higher peak numbers. I would think if you dynoed with e85/ smaller pulley etc, and then ported you would see a similar trend. But maybe if you’re spinning the blower fast enough you overcome it. What I thought was interesting was they were showing lower boost, where others where showing a boost gain from the port. Was just curious is all. Here’s the video. Lot of factors at play

Revisiting the Holley Dominator and 2.4 IHI issue.

Question:
How does one control the 2.4 IHI supercharger bypass valve with the Holley Dominator.

Potential Answer:
Before I piss any money down the drain I went into research mode. Holley refused to answer my email and at best on the forums all I get are *crickets*. So I went to the Dominator configuration page. This is an interactive selector tool that will help you configure your Dominator setup, found here: https://documents.holley.com/efi_selection_chart62914.pdf

In step six you will find the Holley double throttle body controller...558-450 CHRYSLER HEMI DRIVE-BY-WIRE DUAL THROTTLE BODY HARNESS: https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/harnesses/parts/558-450

Well long story short we know the hellcat sbv is just a re-purposed throttle body... so lets look at the pinout...
1704934790255.png
For Throttle Body 1 we will use these pins and connectors for the Kong throttle body. To verify fitment here is the default pinout on the Dodge side.
1704934881836.png

All right everything lines up, lets take a look at what's going on with the sbv and their pins and compare it to the Holley throttle body 2.

It's a god damn slam dunk case closed. I'm so mad that I had to go through this now I just need to save up. Can anyone that runs a Holley and or a 2.4 confirm this is the way to go? @zhc @Marc W @Hatermkr do you guys have anyone in your network that can answer this question?

Tech with Holley is hit or miss. There are people there that are very knowledgeable and those who leave you wondering who you just talked to. Those are the ones who answer the phone. 😂. The others are the guys who actually developed stuff and their numbers are for the chosen few who have known them for years. I’m not one of those. The three Mopars in the shop with the Holley EFI all have Whipples with the vacuum bypass. They work without having to do anything. Trying to remember but I think the Terminator will control a electronic bypass where the Dominator wouldn’t. Don’t know what’s up with that 😐

Today I spoke with Ty Peek from peekperformanceparts.com. We connected over a post I made about Holley Dominator EFI and the IHI/6.2. Basically I asked how the SBV is controlled. Most people said use Haltech switch to Motech, yada yada. He actually took time to direct message me and assuage any fears I had.

You won't get very far with the tech department. They won't let you speak directly with anyone in engineering, so it's a long waiting game. I can tell you 100% that the hemi dual drive by wire harness and the drop down will inverse the throttle body and SBV. Mapping and scaling the map sensor is easy to configure
Since I don't have any actual hardware the EFI V6 was not showing any DBW setup so I couldn't answer it myself. Here are the parts I choose from the Holley configuration and have in my cart.

  1. https://www.holley.com/products/fue...ion/dominator_efi/dominator_ecu/parts/554-114
    1. Kinda important... also is required https://www.holley.com/products/fue...minator_efi/dominator_harnesses/parts/558-308
  2. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/hp_efi/hp_harnesses/parts/558-116
    1. Main harness. Provides 4 inputs/outputs that are programmable. Connects to J1A/J1B.
  3. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/hp_efi/hp_harnesses/parts/558-210
    1. Injector harness, connects to Main harness. Most common Hellcat injectors are EV6.
  4. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/hp_efi/hp_harnesses/parts/558-311
    1. Ignition coil harness. Will connect to the ignition capacitors on the back of the heads as well as the main harness.
    2. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/modules_and_sensors/parts/554-122 required drivers for ignition, connect to main harness to power coils
  5. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/harnesses/parts/558-450
    1. Dual drive by wire, will control Kong throttle body as well as the SBV
  6. J2A Input, J2A Output
    1. Not happy that I have to get this but if you get the Dual DBW harness they use J3/J4 so I have to get these two and I get 23 inputs/outputs.
    2. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/harnesses/parts/558-401
    3. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/harnesses/parts/558-402
  7. https://www.holley.com/products/fue..._sensors/sensors/oxygen_sensors/parts/554-101
    1. O2 sensor for Bank 1, not running duals to start with, the J2A/J2B harness is already terminated for two when I care to get one.
    2. Not happy holley locks you out of o2 sensor with their proprietary ones.
  8. https://www.holley.com/products/electrical/wiring_and_relays/parts/7564-HC
    1. Two MSD Solid State relay kits, was quite impressed how you can wire these to the Dominator to control fans, fuel pumps, trans brake and other power hungry sources. Kind of like they were meant to play together.
It's ordered and on its way.
