The drive shaft doesn't seem to be secured properly. We might have found the source of the friction noise.

After the replacement, all the issues vanished—no more shaking, no weird noises. Now the car runs as smooth as a baby's bottom. (Btw, this part looks pretty fragile—are there any reinforced components for the drive shaft?)

Wanting to keep my car original when the drive shaft (DS) center bearing support went out on it i replaced with an original. Dodge makes you buy the entire DS and its very pricy. There are several other options, like a one piece DS in alum, carbon fiber, or steel. You can also cut away the rubber support and metal bracket then use a JXB 2 piece bracket. If mine breaks again i think that is the direction i will go. I have read good reports on his brackets, and customer support.

It seemed like the more I posted about it, the higher the prices went! So I took it off-line. I found out about it from Cerino on the other forum, he found one new at a dealer and said there were a few more. I grabbed one, another was picked up by a member here.

I was pretty much freaking out. It was zero this morning, low of 1 tonight, and 21" of snow coming tomorrow! I think it was the driver's plan to get in and out quick! I followed your recommendation and used Reliable, it was worth the extra $. It was a husband/wife driver tag team, they picked up Monday in LA, and delivered 10am Friday when it was sunny and 40! And they were in constant touch with updates! Very happy!

as mentioned, JXB makes a good kit for replacement. Takes ~45 minutes to cut out the old one and bolt up the replacement [without removing the driveshaft]. A lot quicker with the driveshaft removed
