Here is another tech tip. This one on torque management. If you are able to view your tune please make sure your torque management page doesn't look like this one with all of the torque management disabled. Just a general rule of thumb is leave spark enabled. Everything in green has been changed from enabled to disabled. This customer has switched tuning to us. He has already burned up one transmission and he is hoping his second transmission is still ok.
This is on the engine side and there is so much to do with trans safety on the engine side we always recommend full retunes instead of just retuning the transmission.
In todays day and age a transmissions are not cheap. Proper torque management does not make you slower it actually makes you faster.

It was. More well know Then myself. About the 15th tune like this I’ve redone from him.

Somewhere around there. You have to remember @hellno ends up with a lot of these failed transmissions from these guys and when he sees this he will require a new tuner or he will not work on their unit.

I dont care I will say who it is. Tim mother fucken Barth. He pull this shit years ago on mine. Got called out on it. And I got blamed for stealing his tune. He burns up a trans than sipple sells them a new one for 8-10g. Seems like a great pair.

That page looks like a ton of yikes with a side of f&@k that.

Makes me wonder though. I have some unlocked tunes still floating around. I'll have to check mine.

just to make something clear there are good tuners out there ,,im not claiming to be infallible because i can make a mistake just as easily as anyone can but when i doo i stand behind it ,,tuners like jon moored performance ,,hemituner aj berge ,,zhtunes,dusteroff and hhp i rarely have any issues but some others are either turning the torque management off and not raising pressures or both

and when guys have mods done to their car ( low mileage car at that ) and within 6-8 months the trans fails and the mods are 900 hp at best and you see torque management turned off and trans pressures still stock ,it just seems like that someone tuning it is setting it up to fail so they can sell a trans at a later date

Yeah he is a sweetheart! Not! My car idled so bad with his tune. And then the engine at 130 mph going down the strip would just go into limp mode. I switched to Alex. Even on the weekend Alex would help me out.

Sadly we have been seeing this since the TCM tuning was made available for the 8HP transmissions. Generally this will always result in a failed transmission.
I believe the practice was carried over from the NAG1 transmissions where it was common (sadly) to disable spark TM.
As Jon said - do NOT disable spark TM - There's a reason OST Dyno (and others) have completely stock 8HP90's in Hellcats running 8.6/8.7 1/4 mile times - and not just once but for many years of racing.

Yep, hard on a tranny to shift at 6500 rpm at 1000ft lbs with zero spark pull. Same thing happened years ago with the duramax transmission. Guys would add 300hp and 500ftlbs of torque with efi live and not defuel between shifts and smoke the alison left and right.
