Hey All,
Sorry, this is not Hellcat related, but my 2002 Viper's rack crapped the bed last year. It's pretty much been parked since with my bad back to boot, but I'm going to need to get the car up and going within a month...
Not much in the world of NOS stuff for Vipers...especially the rack and doesn't seem to be much in the options in alternate options of new. I've heard of many people sending out their current racks and having a company do a complete reman. I've heard both good and bad experiences in the past.
I searched around online and a few places claim to do Viper rack rebuilds for like $1.5K. You have to send them your old rack first, then they rebuild it and send it back to you. I was sort of hoping that I could find a place that'll send you the rack first (charging a core fee) and then refund when you send yours back, but that's probably a large ask. Also, the Viper tax is REAL, and people will charge 3 times what it would cost vs a normal car. But in the same token, I'd want to know the job was done well, so I'm not looking to be cheap.
Has anyone sent a rack to a reliable place to be rebuilt? Would any repair/performance shop be able to do a rack rebuild if I just broke the rack to them? Any experiences appreciated.
