Two brand spanking new gas stations opened a mile from my house. Rode by one of them today and E85 available. Good news its still enough of a thing to get put in a brand new station. I'll check the other one soon as well just to see.

If I were working on this project, I'd have a sensor on the car. They're cheap. I'd also have it feed the content % back to the dash gauges so the driver could see it. That would be pretty cool.

I agree. I know the inferential logic approach works, but being more of a nuts-n-bolts type as opposed to a software engineer, I never understood why sensors didn't become the norm, other than the obvious part cost, etc. My 2001 daily Chevy S-10 has one, and while the original sensor failed fairly quickly, the second one in there has been flawless for almost 20 years...

I was surprised to learn only GM uses a sensor, at least as far as the big three go. I have to assume it's 100% parts cost related as I've started to put together the only reason FFV were offered was to take advantage of the cafe credits. I would agree an actual sensor reading the ethanol content would be more precise, but my non-sensor FFV tune is dang close and has worked well. Was a PITA to get it right though.

E85 is not that readably available in my neck of the woods...but 100 octane is...

100 octane wont support 1000hp At least not for OEM I dont think. I'll have to check some logs for where I exceeded RM109 but I think it would be about 920 to 950 crank but of course tons of variables.

The GM fuel rail reader is a popular thing out here, I was quoted $500 to install I think, or maybe the part is that much. It’s been a while since the conversation

My local track doesn't have 100 octane available either. It's 110 leaded. When I was running Renegade RM109 I had to make arrangements to pick it up.

Nothing here. I think there's 1 about 10-15 miles away. I heard that it's not a quality fuel.

We have it @ two major car wash /gas stations...9.55 a gal..it actually went down 40 cents a gallon since last year...go figure...
