Hey guys me and @Beast707 had this discussion but wanted to get your thoughts on this. So my friend who owned a scatpack recently sold his car and I bought his TB and Hellcat Airbox. He also has a Jay Green tune that he is selling. I was wondering if I will run into issues if I bought this tune, also will it even work on my car or do I need to ask Jay Green for a new one. Is it worth it since I still have warranty on my car? Wanted to gather your thoughts on this and see if anyone else has bought a tune from someone else in the past and put it on their car.

you can`t just install a tune from another car. The tune is licensed to a Vin/Ecu.

you can`t just install a tune from another car. The tune is licensed to a Vin/Ecu.
Nothing stops him from going into VCM Editor, doing a diff from his stock tune to the new tune, copying the changes into his stock tune and then flashing. Shitty thing to do and I don't recommend it, but that's how I've seen scumbags do it.

To be honest I thought the seller was trying to sell a "flash" device with a tune in it from the sellers car and the OP was asking if he could flash it right into his car .

My thought was adding the tune for a CAI, TB, and Trans wasn't worth voiding the warranty. Car can still be ran with the TB and CAI. Just don't think 40hp worth it.

Not an FCA tech but if they wanted to they could ding you on the TB.

It's possible of course but Fastman uses stock OEM TB's and opens them up. Would probably have to be removed and inspected to see the difference.

True. I bought an MMX TB for mine and I doubt the avg dealer tech would notice the difference since it looks completely stock on the outside and has the Chrysler p/n. Since they can't service any actual part of the TB at the dealership, it's an r/r to them.

but I did keep my stock TB to put back on if I had a problem since I didn't want to dealer to take my other TB.

If you're worried about warranty, you can already toss the thought of tuning out. Not even sure if you will gain much (if any, esp with no tune to take advantage of) by swapping the throttle body and intake over.

so here is what Im thinking....

buy an unlock pcm from Diablo $650
get the trinity from my friend $350
Jay Green to provide the tune for engine and trans $450

shit is getting expensive....25 -30hp gain.

25-30hp gain? Save your cash man. You'e not going to feel it at all. My new RE has 90hp more than my 2016 Hellcat and tbh the 3.09's are what make the difference, not the 90hp. Save the cash.

hell for that much i rather get headers....
After modding a 392 I can tell you the headers were worth 10hp. Cat deletes closer to 15hp. I would do the cat deletes. It will save you money and hours of work
