Why would you though. Sitting at a light not pissing away fuel for no reason. Let off the brake and the truck is rolling by the time you step on the gas. Also saving fuel by not having to start from a dead stop. 🤷
Because it's hot in Florida. Plus I can't stand the stop and start bang. It's annoying.

My 21 Ram 1500 has it...you barely notice it...no bang...

^^ exactly.

No bang at all and the HVAC blower continues to blow cool air, and when the air isn’t cool (or warm) enough, it turns the engine back on, pretty slick honestly.
Again, you say you know what the eTorque is, but it doesn’t sound like it. It isn’t an EV and the start/stop is much better than most.

I had one. It would cook you at a traffic light. That was the only complaint except the towing capacity.

Hmm, 1500 and towing capacity? Sorry, doesn't compute.

Well, unless you actually believe the J2807 numbers.

It was rated for 11,800 on the Ram website when I put the vin in. I think that it was a dream on somebody's part.

Unfortunately, the J2807 tests aren't exactly real life. Not surprisingly, Ram is happy to brag about those numbers, no matter how unrealistic they may be.

My wife's BMW had it as well...that was annoying.

Buy it and drive it.
If you are not going to modify it then don't worry about it.
Get the Mopar protection plan and let them deal with any bullshit from that system.

The other thing I do with my wife’s Explorer if I want it to run at a light is just turn the wheel.

You can turn in off.
I hope so, that would be great. The Serv Mgr at the local Dodge said no. Do you know the procedure? Thanks!

Mine was a 2020 and it had a button on the dash. I think on the right side of the wheel. It's been a while since I had it.

Someone posted that the etroque system has a 8/80 warranty but damned if I can find any confirmation of that on the Ram web site!

Seem to be getting a lot of good info recently, thanks everyone. I am not sure if the 22 has the ability turn off stop/start, but I have read there are ways to bypass it.

The incentive in Aug was $3k, Sept was $2k, now it's $1k, if that holds I am now looking at 13.7% below sticker. This includes a additional $1k offer I received in an email from Ram valid on orders placed before Oct 1. I forwarded the offer to Koons and hopefully it will be applied. Delivery is scheduled for Nov and hopefully the incentives will not erode further.

I was told that if you put the trailer plug in that it turns off.

I read that if you pull the connector on the hood open switch, that would disable it. It disables the remote start for safety. Supposedly it also disables the stop/start from what they say.

I guess that if you disconnect anything that it doesn't do it...

Using AlfaOBD would be one simple way. If they have that function already.

I thought it had a button on the dash? We had the stop/start on a 2018 Chrysler 200S and I had to turn it off every time I started the car to go somewhere. It was a minor inconvenience.
