In HellCat/SRT or any other vehicle. I've had 3 Corvettes C5, C6 and C7, my Ford Lightning over the years, 300SRT in May 2018 and the HC up there this past May. GT350 going up May 2020.

I was really surprised how it handled. My biggest fear was the back end coming around on me. Ran it in Sport mode. But the brakes. Geez, the Brembos were fantastic.

In case you don't know, the Dragon is US129 located on the NC-TN state line. 318 curves in 11 miles. No residences or business. More braking and handling than speed and HP.

3x on a motorcycle. The roads around the dragon are a lot more fun than the dragon itself IMO, but you can only get the cool professional ones on the Dragon. If you go, go during the week. Weekends are nuts and very crowded with cops and retards.

Many times in a S2000. Last time was in a AWD Q50 Red Sport. Lots of work staying on your side of the double yellow.

I've drove it many times with several of my cars. Here is a picture of my Hellcat the day I drove the Dragon.
I was with a group of SRT engineers that day.

My husband John and I drove it many years ago with his Cobra Club.
We had a Superformance replica Cobra.
It was a lot of fun for John and I.

Linda :)

Yeah. They only shoot the photos on the Dragon. I like the Cherohala and Foothills Parkway too. Way less crowded. I've done the BRP from beginning to end 3 times. 469mi. 😂

Get there Monday. Drive all over the area Tue/Wed. Depart by Thursday. Avoid weekends. It's practically undriveable. At least they finally banned BIG trucks. Dumb truck drivers. 😜

A photo I didn't pay for...😁

I've been going on bikes for over 30 years at least twice a year, started at 20 on Crotch Rockets. Back in the good old days, speed limit was 55, which you can not do inmost places, they would close the road on weekends every now and then and you rode for times. The Magazines started writing about it, car and bike clubs started coming from all around, people started dying on a regular basis, cops came, speed limits dropped to 35 now and almost constantly patrolled.
The area is great riding and driving, this is only one little bit of nostalgia, don't be afraid to adventure out. Good maps available through several websites including tailofthedragon.com and others. We average 4-500 miles just in a weekend not including the trip down and back from Kentucky. I recommend everyone do the Dragon, but do not dwell on it and miss out on a wonderful part of TN, NC, GA, SC, KY - all really tight together.

I drove it in the 90’s. I did it twice with my then Plymouth Sundance Duster which handled pretty well. It was a blast the first time but the second time I was with my then married to ex. I made her car sick. A disaster.

i had to go through brocks performance to get my header but I didn't like the brocks can. I ordered the hindle evolution can through street and competition out of new York. the brocks can was way to loud. brocks had exclusive rights to the hindle header in the states for the gen 2 vmax at that time.

Made multiple trips to the Dragon. Became too crowded and too many police to enjoy the road. Was lucky one year with a SLK55 in early spring with hardly no traffic. You could hear the roar echoing through the mountains and didn't have to worry about crossovers or slowing down for traffic Tail of the Dragon.jpg ...….

After I installed my HID lights on my C5, I did a night run. Two things. You can see and hear oncoming traffic a good many turns away and most of all virtually NO traffic. I think I passed 2 cars.

Weekends are a joke now between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Can't get any separation between the 5 RV's in front of you to make a "spirited" run.
