I see that the 23 event is underway with another session end of September into October.

The 2024 event starts around August 10th.

I've put it on our calendar. Thinking about a nice cross country trip.

Anyone else ever attend Speed Weeks?

Ran a motorcycle there years ago and had the time of my life! Bucket list thing for any motorsports enthusiast, (like Isle of Man TT, which I'd LOVE to go to), and it's a once in a lifetime experience for sure. Stayed in a casino/hotel in Wendover which was decent enough and met some of the nicest people on the planet. LSR is orders of magnitude more dangerous than some other types of racing, a whole lot of :poop: can go sideways when your WOT through 1 KM/1 mile traps (depending on the sanctioning body)...

If you do go, the first time ya gotta eat the salt...and it's as disgusting as it sounds...but ya gotta do it!

I seriously doubt that I'm going to eat that nasty stuff.

But I'm looking forward to the experience of being there and watching the insanity of it all. We're going to make a nice road trip out of it and see some sights that we've never seen or visited.

I'm planning on being there too. A couple of people I work with have been there the past few years and everything came together this year for each of them to get 2 records each. Next year they're stepping it up again.

No, but it has been on my bucket list for a long time!

It kind of fell off the radar the last few years, but this year I followed Alex Taylor's adventures because she hooked up with two local racers that I was previously unaware of, and her videos really got the juices flowing for how cool of a place it is!
