The tensioner has a range of movement and theres a marker. That marker should be close to center of the range. That's what I'm asking about. I don't see it in your pics.

The tensioner on the 22 Redeye is a different design. If you look at my first post. There are 5 photos, the tensioner is the last photo down.It does appear loose. It is not in the middle.Below photo shows the top of tensioner where the marker would be on the previous tensioners.

Looking at the front edge of your belt in pics 1 & 4 it looks like it’s fraying a bit. Leads me to believe it’s not tracking straight and rubbing the edge of the pulley which would explain some of the dust. Of course slipping due to it being loose would also cause dust.

The photos seem to make the edge of the belt look worse than it is. It seems to Line up on the pulley well. I have 3 different belts Ordered. We'll see what happens.

Final update: After removing all the paint from the Littens pulley with 36 grit sandpaper and using a 572 gates green belt all was good.
The 2 Bando belts slipped badly. One came with the 2.85 kit the other was a 1/2 inch shorter. There is a good reason a green belt is used on the Redeyes!
The Bando belts appear to soft to grip the pulley.in this application.

More of a brand for the belt. I wouldn't buy bando being I do not have any experience with them. The dayco is ok but the gates would be my 1st choice. As far as the green goes, I like the gates black belts better and it is what I have on my car

Roughing up the pulley helps for grip also. Glad it worked for you
