I miss that show. Used to see reruns 20 years ago on tv. Car and Track was the show. They would show Nascar races among other tests. Gratton is by my and they would test cars there. I see Bud did lived in Grand Rapids, MI

Very cool to see that! That was on the driver doing a slow 14.1 spinning all the way through 1st gear. Most magazine road tests back in the day had it going mid to low 13’s @ 105 mph on the F70x15 Polyglas tires. Back then it was hard to roll into the throttle once all 8 bbls kicked in. Track prep and tire’s were not very good back then either but you could make it a beast with a cam, headers and slicks. The modern day 4600 pound 5.7 Charger with a 3.06 rear is virtually as fast as most old stock 426 Hemis.
Great video! Thanks for sharing. That car would fetch some serious $ on today's market. Wow, 7 MPG. Reminds me of my dad's 428 Mustang that was averaging about 10 mpg. I swear you could see the fuel needle move when you got into the gas hard. The narrator on the video reminds me of Rod Serling from the Twilight Zone with his suit and cool demeanor. Probably has a cigarette dangling between two fingers as he speaks too.
Well, 1 is still alive,,, 2 :15 and the Hickster is still sturing around. Indian mounds or snot. I used to dig these in the winter time on the Tennessee River for arrow heads. Not to get off topic. But just where is this person??
Nick's Garage in Montreal is doing a complete frame off restoration of a 1969 Dodge Charger 500, 440 engine from California. Interesting series on Youtube:
