And loosing the oem A/S Pirellis. Already squared away with the rears, NT05R’s in 315 on Replica 10.5’s.
Just bought a clean set of oem 9.5’s and wondering what all around tire and size would be best? Car is a fair weather toy driven on weekends only and since I'm in NY, the season probably 9 months long, weather dependent. I don’t rack up alot of mileage and I don't care if I get caught in the rain. Ive pretty much narrowed my choice down to the Nitto NT05, or the 555 G2. I am open to other suggestions though. As far as sizing on the 9.5 in oem wheel Im considering the stock size 275/40R20 or perhaps a 285/35R20. Thoughts please? Cost is always a consideration btw, but I will get a few seasons out of them anyway as I put maybe 3-4k per year on the car. Thanks...

I’m a Continental Extreme Contact Sport fan boy. 285/35’s are a perfect fit on the 9.5” wheel. 285/40 work too but are hard to find.

If you want to save some coin with a decent tire that is seldom talked about, check out the Atturo AZ850 series. Great bang for the buck.

Thanks for the quick reply MiHi. Ive read lots of good things about the Contis, so they are under consideration for certain. I dont think I have much of a prob mixing brands. I see those Atturo Z850 on ebay for 214.00 per pair, in that size, including shipping!!! Am I a tire snob if I don’t even consider a name Ive never heard of?

Yep, I’m the same way on tire brands if it were not all the guys in our Challenger Club using those Atturo’s. Lots of Hellcat drivers using them also. One guy just got his new Redeye and shortly switched out his Pirelli’s for the AZ850. I do the occasional track day so am sold on Conti’s :) Will be looking for a good drag radial for the strip this summer though.

The NT05R’s in 315 35 20's on Replica 10.5’s have proven to be a great improvement on my M6 car.

With the 315's and Replica 10.5's no rubbing on the inside wheel well?

I have a pair of NTO5's on the front with Nto5R's on the back and they have been solid performers.
Granted, I don't use them for anything but occasional jackassery and straight line work.

Nope, but it is close.

Thanks Decay, another vote for the Nittos.

At what point do you need to worry about bracing your rear dif? I've read the NT05R is believed to be the culprit of some of the demon 3.09's shattering.

I had trouble getting them to hook consistently with my Scat...

I ordered a set for my RE the other week but decided to return due to mixed reviews. Toyo R888R is now high on my list. Just worried about potential warranty issues if I have differential problems.

Do some research. Others have had better results.
I may have not been getting the warm up/PSI correct for track action.
Just my opinion.
Truely, I only have 25? passes on my NTO5R's.
I ran them at 16 PSI and only gave them a short clean at the water box.
Not a very scientific assessment. IMO
I have a set of MT ET street radials that I am planning on using this season.

I run the firestone Indy 500 tires and they perform very well rain or shine and have excellent traction

I run a 295 Michelin Super Sport . I think I am a bit of a tyre snob but a quality tyre can be the difference between life and death. That sounds a bit dramatic but with so many morons on the road it’s also true .

You ever run them at the track? I know they're not dedicated drag radials but I'd like to know how they did if you ran them. I have a brand new set on a set of spare slingshots but only they had them on street for less than 1000mi. before I took them off for winter.

I never tried them at the track and I honestly from experience believe if you take it to the track at least get rear 17” wheels with a drag radial don’t waist your time and money trying to get a street tire to hook
