SO, first off thanks for all the support from everyone here. Had it not been for you guys I'd not have even made a video. No joke.

YES I had a LOT of fun. The first filming day was pretty brutal, very long, the interview was kinda weird and TVish, but the 2nd day I really had fun. The green screen thing was right up my alley since I've done a fair share of announcing at ChallengerFest each year. I literally let it rip and the actual filming went on for I'm guessing 5-7 minutes so I was surprised to only see a few seconds in the final edit. I'm not trying to toot my own horn too much here but I literally dropped the mic after that green screen shoot. Goldberg looked at me and said "awesome freaking job man!" as I walked off set and all the producers and directors cheered as I walked back to the green room and several of the crew gave me high fives as well. I was feeling pretty good about the performance. F

From there I literally went straight outside and did a few laps in a RE with Matt Hagan. I'm surprised none of the driving was shown in that second episode. It started with a burnout, which I let it eat LOL and released the line lock in like mid of 4th gear I believe. When I saw the smoke start to come around the front of the car I figured that was good or else the film crew couldn't see us.

Then the laps I started off slow just making a sighting lap like you'd expect, and gradually got faster each lap. By the 3rd lap I was getting after it pretty good and had the back end slide around a bit and I think it scared Matt LOL. He said "hey man they're not timing us" and I replied "telling me to slow down is like telling you to" and he got a big kick out of that.

It was a very neat experience although all that time and filming for just the few minutes for a webisode seems odd. I was told the original budget was quite a bit bigger for all this and I guess Stellantis cut it, so maybe this was originally gonna be on MotorTrend and due to funding had to be online only.

The Dodge people seemed legitimately interested in the enthusiasts. I'm guessing this just has some kind of campaign behind it and if you look at the top 5 I was older than everyone by 15 or 20 years. They have Goldberg for that demographic if I'm being honest with myself there. Now I get to watch the final with you guys to see who wins. I have my favorite but will reserve that until we all know.

Katie did approach me in wardrobe and asked if she could get me in contact with her people about being a guest or host on a show, so maybe you'll see me out there somewhere one of these days.

@Speedy! - congratulations on making the top 5 out of over 100,000 people!
I think when you called the Krispy Kreme an egg, that was the beginning of the egg, I mean end. lol. jk
You did an excellent job representing the brand and the community and hopefully your following grows as a result.
So bout the ONLY thing that was kinda frustrating for me is that they literally told us ZERO about what to expect. I was literally walked to a door, director said "when I say action walk in" and the director walked off. I had NO idea what to expect at all. "ACTION" I open the door and there's Goldberg a the desk, he hands me the mic, and says go to the mark on the floor. TV will come on and I want you to describe what you see as if you're talking to a person that is blind. That's it. TV pops on and it's two Demons getting ready to drag race and I just let it rip. They would cut from one scene to the next right when you were in the middle of describing what you were seeing, so I had gone from Katie running up like a crazy fan to these white blobs on a rotisserie LOL. I had no idea what they were. Everything else had been a Mopar of some sort doing a race or burnout or drifting, etc. They cut out the part where I got all excited about it being Krispy Kreme and the "HOT" light being on and how bad donuts were for my 6 pack hahaha.

I think that you pretty much hit it on the head. Demographics and supporting evs is their bottom line on their marketing campaign. Plus you're a straight shooter and they need a "yes" person.

I was in a good position personally. I'm blessed to have a successful career so I didn't have to be anything but "me". When they asked how I felt about the money and kinda acted like $150K was a really big deal, you shoulda seen their faces when I told them "I'll do this for free". They didn't know what to say. I told them I was there because I love meeting people and car culture no more no less.

I really struggled a bit after the first elimination. I felt like maybe I had taken someone's spot who was really counting on it or it being their dream or something. That part was very hard for me. Goldberg could tell I was a bit shaken and came over and gave a pep talk, I thought that was very cool. He interacted with us quite a bit as did Katie. It was never like they just showed up to film and then poof gone.

.
The commercial my car starred in with Brian Lohnes lasted 1 minute. The day they shot it my car and I were on location for 12 hours...for a single minute commercial.

Well at least you went out and did it. I think if you didn’t you would have talked about the opportunity and said you wish you would have done it.
At least you had a hopefully fun weekend.
good news. You have a hellcat and maybe just go beat in that a little this weekend to make you feel better 😊

Dodge is going to be something else here in a few short months.
That 24 months of Direct Connect bullshit is actually the final countdown.

Dodge at the Demon reveal and then I believe at the Redeye (possibly S/S) reveal commented on youtube posts and how many "young" people are interested in the Dodge brand etc.
Dodge became trendy with the Hellcat. Look at the sales numbers for proof. And if you need more look at the longevity of both the Charger and Challenger.

They want to be the hip young fashionable brand.
A 40 something white dude doesn't fit the bill. But a 40 something dude is probably the one who can afford the 120k E-Muscle Charger.

I'll go back to playing with old hot rods, or just buying used late model stuff.
Sadly, Toyota is the one investing big into keeping ICE alive. I might end up a Toyota guy if they do it right.
I mean, they did finally put a manual option in the Supra.

Remember that if and when we line up. I need the win much more than you do...😳😳

Dang Speedy, I was pulling for you!

Sucks that as expected you were just too old, white, and male. NOTHING else was disqualifying for you! At least you still have the single best channel on youtube!

I love my 4Runner I've had for about 20 years and if Toyota solves the turbo issues on their new TT V6 and drops that in the 4Runner it'll have my attention.

With Dodge going away from V8s unfortunately I will have to look at other brands for my next hot rod, or build my own. Anyone checked out the Superformance AC Cobras? My buddy just ordered one with a 600HP Nascar inspired power plant o_O

I have never heard of them. But I have heard of factory five. Father in law and I before I bought the hellcat talked about going one.
I have been thinking about buying the redeye long block just to have because I can get it cheap right now. Maybe that would be a good temporary home 😊
It has been a year since I looked at these kits I’ll have to look again.
farher In law does a lot of body work so it would be possible.

Superformance is turn key. It's pretty bad ass. The Cobra R is the one he got and the one I'd want. It's like a resto mod AC Cobra.

I've seen one before, pretty nice. The 5 something cars, I think, are really nice.

I looked at doing a Factory Five build.
I really like the 33 deal even though I have some issues in the "replica" area. Still, i'd love to build one. 2200lbs with a 500hp V8 and a stick. Death trap!

Sounds like the factory five would be more entertaining on your channel

You made it to 5 Speedy and that is still awesome! I'm pulling for Lauren. Her video was one of the 1st I saw and I think she would be right for the job. Plus it sounds like she can drive so if it can't be Speedy then her

Speedy, very sorry you didnt get the job, but I think 45-70 hit it right on. Wrong age; wrong color and probably would have helped if you were transgender. Lololol.

I’m very surprised by how this went. It has opened my eyes as to how woke Dodge is, likely because of Stellantis, those bastards! I don’t know that I want to stay with Dodge for future purchases, but after driving Dodges for 50 years, I don’t know what other brand I’d go to
