IMO, this is an example of exactly why very few companies invest in deteriorating cities. Tesla builds mega plants in the middle of nowhere, both domestically and abroad. Amazon wanted to open a Hub in Queens, the AOC said no, the real estate values would go up, you cannot make this stuff up

I heard an employee of mine just yesterday talking to her coworkers say " It's impossible to please some people. They have to bitch no matter what. If they were given 100 million dollars cash, they would yell, scream, and complain because it wasn't 500 billion".

If your familiar with this area you know its already a huge industrial location
The red square is the proposed addition that is currently a parking lot at the Mack ave plant

It is also the location where they stored Demons
&
The location were the 3 Demons burned Oct 31 2017... I m pretty sure not to many people know this but it was a "HOT" topic then...

Across the street is the Conner Creek plant with its own rail system
The picture below covers 1.5 miles so this is nothing new

The suburbs mainly East & West are a mess
60 percent of the houses are gone / demolished which took 20 years to clean up
30 percent more should be demolished
The remaining 10 percent that are livable are obviously low income houses
Pick any street around this area & view the houses
Its actually sad

With all these new jobs arriving

Super low housing / property values in the area
People can choose to take on a well paying job with great benefits & reinvent the neighborhood !!!

I was expecting to see 600 square foot, plywood shacks.
Not fancy brick beautiful homes.
People just chose to not do any maintenance it looks like.
But the lawn is cut, and they at least put a tarp on the roof.

Detroit was rocken after WW2... Even before WW2
Lots of work, lots of good manufacturing jobs
Most houses were a good size
Lots of money around
The population exploded because of all the work
Then hell broke loose in the 60 s

Never been there, and really don't know a lot about it.
Grew up in Socal, now live in Oregon.
Traveled western states a lot, but never the NE, a little of the SE.
