Both of the people who were in the video knocked the Demon on the track but yet BOTH said they would pick the car to own over the M5 speaks volumes about the car. (y)
I don’t think they really knocked the Demon? They were correct to say it was built for the dragstrip but they said it would have been better with different tires and it surprised the heck out of them for a big car. The M5 tracked better but they definitely had more fun in the Dodge. Both loved it in the end. I liked the review.

I agree, thought it was pretty unbiased.

The m5 is designed more as a daily driver and the demon is literally a demon.

Outside of a daily driver I would choose demon all day long, only reason I don't think the demon makes a good dd is the brakes and wheel/tire combo, also the value on a demon is insane if you keep the miles in check.

You could have bought one for 100k a few years ago, use it with moderate miles now and sell it for break even if not profit.

Demon definitely doesn't make sense to me for a daily either (plus I'm not spending that kind of money on a car right now). I spent some time considering an F10 M5 for my daily. After driving a few, I came to the conclusion that I would much rather drive my Hellcat. The main factor that drove me away from another Hellcat right now is that I need to make one 600 mile roundtrip drive every month and, as much as I wanted to do that in a Hellcat, it wasn't the smartest idea from an operating cost stance haha. When prices fall back in line with historical values, I will purchase another cat.

However, I ended up buying a CPO G30 (2017) 540i with the Luxury package, M brakes, and a bunch of other stuff. While it's pretty boring to drive, it is a very good daily. Has all the great tech, super quite interior, very comfortable, and gets great gas mileage. If I didn't need a car I could just rack up miles on, I would've bought another Hellcat, they make great daily drivers.

You didn't shop the g30 m550? 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. 4.4L v8, much cheaper than the m5.

I had a 530 w/ driver's assistance for a few months then swapped out to grab a 540i with driver's assistance + m sport + exec pack + luxury seating (massage), the 540 was solid imo, a bit underpowered but it is what it is, nice looking car with M sport tho.

M550 would be a nice tweener car for me while the charger redeyes cool down, I'm currently all over the place in my search.

I have shopped in no particular order, charger wb hc, m5, m550, x3M, 750, zl1, and quite a few more.

Just not a good time to get a great deal on anything tbh.

I did shop a CPO G30 M550i Xdrive. It was $20k more than the CPO G30 540i I purchased with similar options and on point price wise as a nicer, low mileage F10 M5. The power was great but otherwise it was just like the 540i, which made it difficult for me to justify the $20k extra. The CPO M550i's are 2018/2019 Hellcat money, so I'd rather just buy another Hellcat if I'm going to spend that much.

To be fair, I had been watching the local market on both BMWs. A dealer here (BMW North Scottsdale) dropped their asking price by like $7k on a 540i I had been watching because they had it for 45+ days. At that point, it made it an easy choice to pick up the 540i for cheap vs the M550.

Yeah that makes sense, since they added the M badge to some 50s and some 40s they are perceived as more valuable and hold value better.

540 is a solid car no doubt, it's still 0-60 in 4.5 it's no slouch but no monster either.

Did you get massaging seats?

I did, I think they came with the Luxury package. They are ok but nothing special in my opinion, though this is the only car I have ever had with massaging seats. Maybe they'll be nice on the long monthly drive. I do love how the seats can articulate from so many different angles, i.e. you can adjust the angle of the back of the seat to sit up right or more leaned back like any other car but, about half way up, it articulates again so you can also adjust the angle for your upper back.

I really like the HUD, though it can be difficult to see if you have polarized sunglasses. I also like the gesture control, something I initially though was a little gimicky. I use it all the time to turn my volume up or down. The M brakes are great too but they dust like crazy, equal or worse than the Hellcats Brembos.

BMW Gesture Control

Another thing I love is all the cameras on the car. As soon as I am pulling into a parking spot and get close to something in front of me, my display switches to the front camera, so I can see how much distance I have between the car and the curb.

Bmw and MB are far ahead typically.

The new 2021 5 series has a built in dash cam system when driving (drive recorder) and when parked it watches over your vehicle in case someone dings it, bumps into it, keys it, etc etc

As far as the massaging seats go they are mostly to promote bloodflow for longer drives, better bloodflow + adaptive cruise = able to drive for longer. I can drive 5-8 hours straight in a 5 series with dap+ and massaging seats. Probably a bit longer if the gas tank wasn't so small..... (used to ford's 36 gallon tank lol)

Adjustability is hands down better in the bmw's. I'm 100% sure if you bought an f90 m5 you would have mostly "forgotten" about the hellcat, however they are just insane in the pricing department, one of the downsides in a complete car is the Germans know they can sell it whether it's 90k or 130k.

The hud is very nice, yes polarized glasses are a problem but they are so useful at night with directions on the hud, the trx gets a hud but the hellcats couldn't? Lol.

Like I said it's the little things that the hellcat misses on, I wouldn't mind $1500 for a tech package that would include acc, lkas, 360 camera's, etc etc

He has a good point. A 3.5 sec 0-60 is pretty darn quick. We have to acknowledge a 4wd powered high powered those sports car like that will out accelerate us btw stoplights.
it doesn't even have to be a high horsepower car, I raced an AWD Acura TLX from a dig and he was right at my rear quarter panel through 1st and 2nd gear, once in third i started pulling away. Don't know if its related to the manual tranny but even with nittos on back I can overwhelm my traction control in first and second gear especially on slick conditions. can you say lots of wheel hop. lol

Our 5500lb DSRT can do 4.4 0-60's all day. If/when they move awd to a hc charger or challenger, it will be a game changer

Yeah and it would be a headache and expensive, headache and expensive for me because I would have to sell my Hellcat and then buy the AWD Hellcat.
I don't understand why they won't wake up and do it, it wouldn't just be the most powerful production car in America, it would probably be the fastest production car in the world.
