Aaah, so that's that one that Speedy was trying to show in a photo - was hard to tell where it went or was attached to.

I think it’s just for safety, holds everything together just in case

Pretty and expensive brackets for maybe 5% of Demon 170's hitting the track

They made it for regular challengers too. Just want confirmation on what it actually is

From their website. It will be cool to see the new part and how it bolts up to our “old” or non-170’s. They sure are proud of it.

Didn't know this was an issue. Bracket is to make everything stronger

Demon 170 has a steel bracket we all wondered what it was there for. AAD made a better version that all Hellcat owners could buy to strengthen that area that is lighter also. Plus it may be hard to buy the bracket from Dodge

Weird, never seen this. Looks more like a bolt grade issue than knuckle issue

They said it knocks 7 lbs off. There it is. It’s a part of the weight reduction stuff for the serious 170 guys who are competing with Ron. Yes even if the bolts are potentially an issue, a simple upgrade with those would suffice. But when you start adding up all those weight saving parts and pieces that are approved bolt on replacements in the 170 record setting world, this one will be one of those.

It is lighter but why did dodge add a bracket they never used before?

I don’t doubt that they determined the bracket was necessary for those 1.2 sixty’s. I think the AAD version is for weight savings and to complete the whole control arm package. I wonder how much weight is reduced using the whole combination of stuff they offer. Significant I bet.

From my own experiences, I believe it is necessary. I wish this came out sooner. What people don't realize is no one checks thoroughly until something is actually broken. It's not something that you'd notice from a cursory visual inspection, the bolts being bent. It's not until you actually remove them that you'll notice they aren't straight anymore in cars cutting low 1.20's or 1.1x 60's and racing a lot. Eventually, the bolt will snap from fatigue. I only know because I had a bolt snap on a test drive on the street. This was after 5+ years of track abuse. Now it's part of my post race inspection to check them and replace if needed.
