Yes, the SRT filter is a little more restrictive flow because it filters a little more, but the MO-899 flows a little better & is the correct one for my 17 HC & on all HC's & can't beat the price, convenience & Mopar brand at Walmart $6.50.
They also have the oil filer for my 2021 Ram truck MO-339.
Can you elaborate on those flow differences between those two filters?

I was just looking at the wix site and then saw this thread.
Wix has a 57063 for the Viper that flows 7-9 GPM by-pass setting 12 psi
the 57899 has a flow of 9-11 GPM with aa by-pass setting of 16 PSI.
You can also get the 57899XP as an upgrade filter from the regular.
I stopped using the 041.
Not sure these are the exact same flow numbers as the mopar filters but info is good.

Sweet buy, who doesn't want a used filter. A month ago I saw some oil for sale on amazon that said 'Barely used' should have picked up 50 gallons of that to.
Yes, I prefer my oil & filters be broken in on someone else's engine - none of that really slippery, clear stuff & dry filters for my cars !

Does it not seem odd the bypass pressure is so low?
Normally an engine will run oil pressure of 20 to 70 psi correct? So then its bypassing the filter always?
I would have thought that bypass would be up around 90 psi.

I saw a thread awhile back, on the 2 filter differences, I think it was at the other HC place. I may have gotten it backwards, the SRT filter flows better than the stock.
I found this but it's on a Viper not HC -

SRT Filter is good for race days. The Stock MO899 also works fine. Both are Mopar parts and no warranty issues with either.

041AA Filter -
"For track-day use, SRT engineers suggest using the SRT oil filter (part number 05038041AA). Originally designed for Viper applications, it works great with all Chrysler V8 engines."

This information was sent out in a SRT news release and was publically verified by SRT engineers, and confirmed during a SRT Engineering chat session. The 041 is a factory and certified Mopar part.

"The SRT oil filter for all the past engines and the new 22mm inlet SRT filter for the Gen 4 and beyond engines share the same characteristics.
We worked with many of the filter suppliers to get the best features. Some fell out for various performance reasons but we ended up developing the current SRT filters with one of the mainstream manufacturers (it is different than their commercial offerings - or at least was when we developed it). The high flow oil pumps in our large engines (Viper is the biggest) can overpower the internal relief valve. When this valve opens it allows some of the high pressure dirty oil to bypass the filter element in order to keep the filter from being damaged. The SRT filters do indeed have a higher differential bypass valve to make sure all the oil delivered to your powerplant is clean. The housing is slightly thicker than many of the brands out there to handle the pressure but is not the thickest. The real thick ones failed our development testing (fractured at the crimped flange). The media used was one of the latest synthetics that allowed very fine filtration, more debris capacity, and much lower restriction than our standard Mopar filter (and just about every other filter out there). The final result was clean oil to your Snake, all the time, with more pressure to the internals where it is needed. I would fully recommend using this filter in your beast, I do in mine. Hope this info helps. KCC"

I think that bypass pressure is for differential pressure from inlet to outlet in case the filter were to plug then oil would still get to important engine components all though not filtered..

I was going to say something like that. I was just hoping someone smarter would say it better.🤪

@rayzazoo I believe has details on this?
The SRT filters do indeed have a higher differential bypass valve
