Spoiler alert: the area under the curve gains from the exhaust are pretty telling.

The immediate jump must be when the exhaust valves open.

You think he eliminated the cats and put 3" to the back and put the valves in? I believe no error shows on the 19, plus he would have programmed out any errors, don't ya think?

Precisely.

So why the instant jump unless something becomes less restrictive at that moment?

That restriction going away would be the throttle body opening, not the nonexistent active exhaust valves which were removed with the 3" system. The later HCs can delete those without throwing a code (but, that is irrelevant since these cars are both tuned).

Make sense. I wouldn't personally want a driver without cats unless running E85 but that's just me. Can you say stinky.

Over 800 on 93? I'd love to see that spark map. I'd imagine there running 14 degrees or so on the dyno. Pretty hot tune and stout numbers.

I think what the jump is one graph is Cat 1 with stock exhaust and higher graph is Cat 2 with the 3” not cats exhaust, that’s what it sounded like the guy was explaining at the end of the video?

That is exactly what he said, and what was shown.

My normal Hellcat with a 2.85 pulley is making 825 on good 93. I run an octane booster as insurance like Octanium Unleaded as I’ve gotten crappy 93 before which generated some short term Kr, I’d rather be safe then sorry.

My Hellcat motor'd car made 757 on 16psi and 9 deg of advance with the dyno operator shutting off at 6,000. The 800ish doesn't surprise me on the RE with a 3.17 pulley, tune, and 6500 RPM shut off. The RE has a bigger cam than the Hellcat motor as well, by quite a bit which would also help. One of these days I'll get the car back to the dyno just to cross check it and insure a full pull to the 6400 RPM set point in my tune.

Doing this last year I can say it depends on the weather. If it is cold you smell it but if it is warm out you don't

Very nice. I also spike my fuel with boostane just to be safe. I have not had my car on dyno after being tuned by Curt but with 17lbs boost and a little more timing than stock with a better fuel curve I'd imagine I'm close to that 800 I guess. Sure runs hard I know that much!

98B54A6F-BE90-4F3A-B15F-D3DF47D3E930.png I’m making around 16.75 to 17.25 lbs of boost as well. I’ve switched to this supposed O2 sensor and Cat friendly VP Octanium, 1 qt in 15 or so gallons of 93 should make for 96-97 octane and track time a Qt in 10 gallons of 93 supposed to whip up 100 octane fuel. Torco type results in a sensor safe mix, sounds maddish even. But Knock sensor volts in a next to nothing 1300 milivolt range and even bank to bank at 6500 rpms and 17.25 lbs of boost is saying engine seems very happy running it. And I run mine hard at least one 1/4 run every time out, 11.5 1/4’s on dusty cold asphalt in the dark 392C0687-CD56-42FD-A39E-EA7E2682A690.jpeg ain’t bad around here in February :)

Pull a spark plug and post a pic.

Funny you ask such as I had the same curiosity myself and pulled two after running it hard for 3 tanks of fuel now and about 20 1/4 runs. Here’s 2, one from 2 and one from 7. This was running 1 qt of Octanium and 10 gallons of fuel for a 100 octane blend. Dropped the exhaust too, here’s the O2 sensor and Inside of header, for a 100 octane mix Boostane and Torco would be much worse at that blend. I like this stuff so far.

PS, These plugs have about 4500 miles on them, most of it on Boostane , I’ve seen them darker orange then this, they look like they’ve actually turned less orange then last check.

Nice coloring. They are a mirror image of what the plugs in my BBC used to look like when I ran 93 and a can of the N.O.S race fuel additive. (Black can). I guess they all use the same or similar chemical additives? They used to advertise it had nitro in it but I think that's all BS and marketing. I didn't care because it really worked. If I did a full run and hung it out to 6500/7000 on straight 93 I'd have oil on the valve covers from blow-by. When I added the N.O.S and did same run, almost zero blow-by. I honestly would be skeptical of sensor safety long term though. All looks very clean though!
