Could have predicted he would have tossed in kudos for Amsoil, again you basically get what you pay for case and point here.

Uh, oh. Sounds like I shouldn't buy my PUP on sale, but at the dealer.

Too bad PUP isn't available in 0W40 5qt jugs from Wally World like the rest of the line up. Seems Mopar contract caused them to pull it from what I've been told so it's only available in single quarts from the dealer or in single quarts from some other retailers. That's why I usually put the Mobil 1 0W40 Euro in the Hellcat. Also, I believe most of the fuel contamination would burn off wouldn't it? So in his test he should have diluted the 5% fuel in to the oil then heated it to operating temp, then test?

Sounds like I can actually drop back to Penzoil Synthetic. I had been running the Penzoil Platinum in 4Runner and Mrs. Speedy's.

Interesting tests!

Prior to getting my first Gen 3 Hemi, I wasn't a huge Pennzoil fan (for no particular reason), but I can now say after using it for six years and seeing its composition and tests like this, I think the PUP 0W-40 SRT is an outstanding oil for the price, and is now the only oil I stock and use in all my vehicles.

There was a thread about the test on BITOG. Mods deleted it. Another thread was started asking why, and the mods locked it.

It’s not a Hellcat engine but it has 247,000+ miles on it, 04 4Runner. It Was loosing coolant, about a cup every 10,000 miles, Oil tests showed trace amounts of coolant in the oil. Was also getting a P420 code for CAT efficiency which started as a once in a while CEL to weekly to daily after about a year so I decided to do head gaskets and replace the exhaust manifolds as the cats are integral to them. What a job, 3 days to take apart, 4 to go back together. After seeing the condition of the internals, especially the cross hatching still on the cylinder liners I decided to replace the timing chains, tensioners, and all guides, water pump, belts, lubed all idlers and tensioners while it was apart and see if it will run another 1/4 million miles. Been run on Wally World 5 Qt jugs of Valvoline 5W30 Extended Perf Full Syn oil and Mobil 1 M102A filters it’s whole life, at $35 an oil change doing it every 3-3500 miles is a no brainer. I run her hard, 100-110 mph for about the entire 26 mile to and 26 mile home daily highway work commute. No carbon build up here lol.

I use Amsoil 5w50 Signature Synthetic in the cat, change it about every 1500-2000 miles, soon as it starts getting dirty out it comes, cheap insurance.
Wonder if it’s going to look like this after 247,000 miles??

I would imagine that it's that kind of usage that has helped your engine live a long happy life.
As opposed to short trips that doesn't get things properly warmed up.

Could be worse, at least you’ll still be by your cars, wife could put you on the shelf next to all her shoes, or worse in your mother in laws underwear drawer😂

I think it would scary everyone if they saw how @16GoManGoHC2 drove that thing! It knows it's speed governor daily :ROFLMAO:
