MFER-1 Active Exhaust Delete and Diff Brace Questions

I actually prefer the active exhaust and plan on removing the MFers unless you guys tell me they don’t make that much of a difference, then I won’t waste my time.

What do you guys think about having the diff brace on a daily driver that’ll never see track use or hard launches (just not my thing)?

Worth removing or should I keep it on and not worry about it?

Given your stated scenario, I would remove them.

I have them both on my car, but I like screwing with things. I like the diff brace for perceived durability (I've reinforced the driveline the whole way through) and the MFER's for a louder car, not earthshakingly loud, but nicer to me.

I'm tuned with stock exhaust. I like the quieter sound.
I feel that the diff brace definitely tightens up the stock ass end from being so squirrely.

Yeah I always wonder about unintended consequences though. Stiffened the drive train up but that’s not how it was designed and there could be an unknown trade off.

Dodge did a bunch of analysis making this car and now you’re just messing with it haha. Probably doesn’t matter but I always wonder, probably because I spent some time as a design engineer and it was crazy to see how much the analysis of strength/reliability/etc could change with minor design changes.

You can open or close the flaps however you like in the tune. So if you plan on a custom tune don’t worry about keep them.
I personally like the active exhaust. Loud when I want. Quite when cruising.

I would leave the brace on, it will not hurt anything and you can not tell the difference driving the car with or without it. Every Hellcat should have one to help the rear live. I would put the actuators on if you want your car quieter.

Don't think I'd want the exhaust wide open all the time, but I would like to be able to control it myself.
I'd leave the brace, don't see how having it on could cause any damage and it's there if you do get the urge to do a bit of hooning

I also have a ‘16 M6. Exhaust is stock and pretty loud all the time. I really can’t hear any difference between street, sport, and track modes as far as sound. I love how loud it is but actually wish it were a bit quieter when just cruising on the expressway at times.

I tuned the active exhaust out, Im also deaf now so… 🤷🏻‍♂️ The diff brace is diff insurance, wheel hop happens.

Ive had the P4D brace on my 15 HC, 18 T/A M6 392 and my 1320. Ive noticed a difference with and without it on all 3 cars. Its subtle but the car feels more planted, especially when launching and accellerating over rough road and really under accelleration period. It doesnt seem to squirm as much if at all.

Some people have had issues with dealers trying to void rear end waranty with it on and even after taking it off as they see that something was there. Ive not had an issue with either of the dealers that I have taken my car to. Theyve even changed the diff fluid with the brace on.

FCA warranty is incredibly dependent on their interaction with the dealer and the dealer with you. Ive had Jeep warranty rocker issues on a wrangler I bought with 45k on it taken care of 100% and ive seen dealers flag drivetrain warranty for a catch can with the owner in for just an oil change. Some dealers get it, and some are just assholes.

I had the MFR plates on my TA and transferred them to my 1320 and have zero issues. I like the extra sound and no squeeking from the valves opening and closing. The HC may be a bit diff as it seems a good bit louder. Personal pref but it wont hurt anything to leave them on or remove them.

Yeah the MFRs are coming off for sure. Took the JLT intake off last night and put the factory intake back on which helped with the sound a lot.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t necessarily want my car quiet but when you can’t hear the engine or exhaust over the supercharger whine, that’s a little too loud for me haha, especially with the windows down.

I do plan to take the car down to Vegas every once in a while, so 6 hours or so, and I’d love to have the active exhaust back.

Question on active exhaust mentioned? Can you not just wire open the active exhaust for the louder sound while the exhaust is cooled off and opened? Keep the plates to put back on when and if you ever take wire back off?

I did that with my 2019 Redeye. The active exhaust is deactivated on my 2015 via HHP tune. I also have diff braces on both of my cars and yes hard launches are not only done at the track. I also have Aftermarket trailing arms and aft sway bar links on both cars and the wheel hop days are no more. Very pleased with all.

on my 2015, I tried the MFER1 parts to resolve the rattling and even got their new flatter springs, to no positive result. Ended up buying the ZAutomotive plugs and completely removing the AES valves.....fixed the problem and zero issues since then......that rattle about 15 - 20 seconds after start up was unresolveable before and annoying af
