Looking at buying possibly a used HC and I believe line lock is standard in 2019. For whatever reason I was thinking line lock is a must, despite I will never take the car to the track. Thought it would be cool to use the function once in a blue moon - like in front of buddies houses; ha.

Tell me about line lock - Do I really need line lock?

If you have an older HC, you can get the burnbox or full Tazer and add the function....

I'm not very techy - is this easy enough to do?

Real easy. Just plug it in and on mine I think you press and hold the < button on the steering wheel, press ok and pump the brakes 2x and it will activate. Then you just let got of the < to deactivate.

Pretty cool little gadget, does a lot of other things too

For drag racing helps to do a good burnout every time. I have a '16 so I use a burnbox

Just pay attention to the screen, after doing burnout you will have to hit your custom screen in SRT pages and maybe go to track and back to custom to make sure your traction is in semi off mode...ask me how I know this!

The problem with the burnbox or taser is that it reverts the car back into street traction when you release the button.
Then it starts applying the brakes while doing a rolling burnout.
A great way to break an axle and sometimes it will interfere with your tune.
I removed mine and just foot brake but I do more of a scuff than a smoky burnout.

I came to the conclusion that the Tazer/Burnbox was more trouble than it’s worth at the track. You do not need one to do a sufficient burnout to heat the tires enough to work at the track. If what you want it for is to do looong tire wasting smoke shows to impress those that like that….. then it will save the rear brakes.

You can turn traction control off. I have done it with and without it off and no issue

Also after your burnout you just change the dash back to your custom setting. It's another thing to do but once you do it a few times it is just part of the procedure

I would rather do that then not having a line lock

I know the process. I just don't like it. I would prefer a real one.

Burnbox should not affect the tune. The tazer has things that it can change to affect the tune. But the Burnbox does not.

My original tuner told me to remove before I took it in. That's all that I know. I don't miss it.

I use it because I have a six speed and its harder to do a stationary burnout without one. My car will tend to walk forward and I can't put too much brake or it will stall.

It is a blast, I will admit I failed on my first two attempts at figuring it out but because I've never had line lock on any vehicle but once you got it OMG its freakin AWESOME!!!

I guess that the Scat Pack has one, I've never looked for it.
