A lot of us struggle with race car or street car. @Marc W didn’t struggle with the decision. Me on the other hand I’m at the point where I need to make the decision.
You will be happy with stock hp… maybe…..
I will say the demon redeye jailbreak platform make huge power with pretty much injectors and e85.
Everybody lives with slightly different circumstances. Out “west” for some reason, the few tracks that are still left, strictly follow the NHRA rulebook. I had a tech inspector tell not to show up again with rubber valve stems when it was a 11 second car. Right off the bat I was disappointed with that number and started doing what was needed to improve on that. I decided I would be satisfied with nines (how naive 😂). I had to check every box on the NHRA tech sheet to get my license running 9.80’s (yes that included metal valve stems). I honestly did not plan on going as far as I have and it would have been a lot cheaper and way less work to have bought a purpose built drag car and just had fun with it. But…. I’ve also enjoyed the challenge of the build and learning so much along the way and that’s a part of what I’ve gotten for the money (sooo much money 😳). The challenge of going faster and looking for that rewarding number that says success is addictive. At this point I’m just helplessly chasing the dragon

On a serious note, if you are running the TPMS units at speed, make sure they are fully torqued to the high end of the spec or the moment on the unit from the mass will twist the stem and you will leak air pressure to dangerous levels.

Ask me how I know...

(Michelin even came to my garage to investigate)

I like the yellow flashing light better.

I got rid of the tpms. You can’t get every light on the panel lit with those still in there. 😝

Yup, there's a whole story to go with it, two engineers and a local mobile tire truck that they hired for support.
