Its a stock hellcat, and im running 18" nitto nt05s at the drag strip.

it seems 98% of all my runs i get a 2.0ish 60' time.

no point in more power if it doesn't hook.

heard that i should get a good 1.6 time with the stock suspension.

i run the suspension on (street) and traction (off)
everything else is set to track.
I roll into the throttle when i get the last yellow.

my best 2 runs last year i got 1.62 times, but i really smoked the tires before i launched.

gets frustrating, all these 2's for my 60' times.

I'm going to try the mickey thompsons this year.

any thoughts/suggestions?

My Best on Stock suspension ( except drive shaft, no choice my Hellcat is a 2015) was a 1.54. It took me a lot of seat time.

If you go with MT ET Rs you will need a Diff Brace to help prevent Diff carnage.

What Track are you racing at?

NT05 are ok at best. The 555rII are way better and I have hooked with those but you really need a better drag radial like a M/T

Switching from the NT05 street tire to a M/T competition tire will do it.

Track surface temp may be a bit cold yet? How’s the prep? Go to a MT 315/50-17 Street R and you’ll be in the 1.6’s, my best was a 1.39 on them. Get them good and hot and they stick.

Love Atco, and that's where I had my Best 60 foot stock and Got ET 10.8. I had Nittos 555's on 18 inch wheels.
Nitto's 555's definitely need a Nice Big ole Smokey Burn and I'm guessing your Nittos do too since you got better 60ft doing so. Nitto's need to be heated.

I also turn off the Traction control by pressing the SRT button in until you here the ring.

When launching while stock I just smashed the pedal to the floor. Now because I have 900 HP I Tap smash. It all happens very fast, but once you feel the hook you put the pedal to the floor.

Also, I only give my Hellcat enough throttle rev to know there is fuel going through. Meaning I probably am around 1000 rpms. Not much.

What wheel size do you have and what PSI do you have them set at?
While stock, My 18 inch the PSI I used was 18 and when the track was warmer I lowered 1 psi at a time 17 was good most of the time. I rarely went up in PSI. Once you know your PSI, check it to keep it there.

Trying to leave on the last yellow light will help because as you break the beams your tires are moving and you will be past the "Tap"

Linda :)

Are you getting in a good burnout? Do you have a burn box? The line lock helps. Also tire pressure plays a roll. Do you feel wheel hop or spin on take off?

I would say tires more then anything. Unless the prep is really good nt05 are not a good track tire

I'd agree not the best tire. But there may be more he could do if he is going to make more passes on them

Put some tire sauce on them, don’t do a burn out with them, drive around the wet box.

Don't go with huge slicks. They will only cut down on the wheel speed and cause higher parts breakage unless you are running no prep.

no, didn't really get a good smoking burnout. yeah, burnout box, and 18psi. and definitely got tire hop sunday. almost always unless i really got the ties hot. 2x i got a 1.6 when i cooked them out of frustration, so its the tires and temp.

18", 18 psi. definitely not hot enough. i load it like 900 rpm or so and tap/smash too. maybe im also too quick, want that 1.6 time and i turn off traction control to do the burn out and then just send it.

You need more air in those tires. Try 21 pounds see what happens.
