Headed to Island yesterday with a few guys. Beautiful day to be at the track. Prep wasn't bad, temps were hovering low to mid 70's, humidity around 50%, and DA at 2000. First time drag racing this boat.

18 Charger HC with LMI, upper, injectors, tuned by Barth, diff brace, D5s on ET Rs. I was full weight and on pump 93. I got faster as the day went on. 3 runs only before track closed. 10.65@131.32 (1.60 60ft) was the best pass. Got bad shake on the top end after the tires started to spin on the rim. Next up, trip to Atco with some negative DA and weight reduction.

Edited to add LMI intake.

Nice job, what is your wheel and tire setup both front and back?

When I run regular wheels up front I get shakes as well, when I run my full drag set up, no shake. Probably the balance or tire, how many miles on the front street tires?

Awesome passes by the way!

Thanks!

Shake was from the rear tires spinning on the rims. Fronts are fine. Shook the shit out of the car on high end once I got past 100mph. Rode ok at 75mph on the way home. I already have them off at work and they are way out of balance now lol.

I have a trick that may work for you . I have 40-50 passes on mine and they have not moved yet .

I used a wire wheel on the bead of the rim to get it to bare aluminum. Then had the tires mounted dry , then used a high tack spray on both beads before seating them . I also let them sit for a few days before using them.

Congrats on first passes, good times.
Yeah , out of balance & how much psi in them will cause tire shake , I don't run mine below 22psi & with good track prep I have no issue.
If you run tire psi too low the tire will spin easier on the wheel.

agree with @Mean Cat; re-balance the all wheel/tires. Also take a white marker and mark a line on your rear wheel & tires and see if the tire moves on the wheel after a couple times down the track.

I started with 20psi cold. 1st run spun down the track.

Pass 2 and 3 I adjusted to 18psi and seemed like the ticket.

Pass 1 & 2 were off idle. Pass 3 was about 1200/1300 launch.

I can post slips if anyone wants to see.

I had a blue grease pen and marked it when I first installed it last week (outside) and it moved about 2".

Always post time slips , lol , & is best to at least take slack out of drive train at launch & maybe track prep wasn't that great ?... but should not have to be below 20psi.

Nice , #3 1.60 60' is good & when you were at 1200 / 1300 rpm , you can try a little higher rpm next time & might do better. And depending on how much time between passes for cool off ? … keep eye on tire psi & adjust as needed to be consistent with psi , the faster or not you make passes the psi will be different.

Temp here today - 106+ lol, you guys enjoy where you live, it could be way worse! Glad all had fun.

Also work on RT , shallow stage & leave on the 3rd yellow on tree , that will help RT.

I wasnt worried about R/T since it was my first runs in the boat. Ill work on it once I am consistent.

I actually have about 500 passes under my belt dating back to 2000 lol.
