2018 Dodge Charger Hellcat

I traded in my 2018 for a 2019 Charger Hellcat. It seems the 2019 exhaust is louder and more noticeable inside the car. Especially running 500 hp in street mode. I’m still breaking in. My 18 Hellcat was quiet in the same modes with louder supercharger whine. The 19 you hear exhaust over supercharger. Anybody else?

I was informed that my 2019 Challenger has resonators in place of the normal mid-mufflers. Why? Totally unsure. But, with the air grabber style hood and air box the blower is very pronounced.

That being said, poke your head under the car and see if you have glass packs or case style mid-mufflers.

Went from a 17 Challenger HC to a Redeye. No difference in sound that I can discern. Both loud. And, what's a 500hp key?

I have ZERO proof, but I've heard someone tell me that the Redeye catalytic converters are different than the standard Hellcat and slightly more free flowing which could contribute to a sound difference.

My 16 hellcat also has the mid mufflers missing and small style resonators.

Oh wait. I did that lol

Internet is wrong. Every 2015- current 6.2L and 6.4L LA, or LD uses the same cat.

They are an awesome design. The big difference is in the cam timing between the RE and HC.

500 Hp only during 500 mile break in 😁
Only if you use the black key.
Red key is full potential, from first mile to whenever.

The blk key is a gimmick in my opinion. What's the point. Keep your foot off the carpet and they drive like a normal car. Now give me a blk key that keeps the car in valet mode. That would be worth having. I say that because even if you put the car in valet mode all the dealer has to do is unhook the battery and valet mode is deactivated.

Completely agree, don't even know where my black key is. Totally pointless. If it were set up to force Valet mode that might be more worthwhile.

Lost my black key on my 16 for over a year. No big deal, never occurred to me to use it.

Piece of masking tape or something similar over the battery cables that will tear and show they have been unhooked. Won't stop them but you'll know about it.
