Everyone with 315 on the rear what is your psi?

I ask because it’s a juggling act, I can get it down to 28 psi and in the mornings while you’re driving you can actually see it dropping to 26 psi. If it goes any lower it will illuminate low pressure light.

I don’t think I’m getting the full face of the tire on the road, it’s only wearing in the center.

The rear IMO needs to be about 25 psi to get a even tire wear but I hate lights on the dashboard.

so at the moment I leave it at 28 to keep it from triggering a light. I think I’m just gonna put it on 25 psi and check that out.

saying all that, what is your psi and how is your tire wear?

I’m pretty much in the same boat as you. I currently run my Nitto 315 r’s on an 11 inch rim at 28 psi as well. You can see my chicken strips (that’s what we called them on motorcycle tires) on the edges so I should probably drop down a few as well. They haven’t got too squirrelly so perhaps another 2-3 lbs. wont hurt. 4475F661-5E38-46AF-8951-BE3FD90C260F.jpeg

I I gotta say is "ALPHA OBD for the win, you can turn off the warning so only the light is there... I have mine turned down as far as it will let me...typically run 25lbs in them, you are right about the cool mornings...will lose 2-3lbs until driving a few miles.

This is what Nitto told me when I asked about their drag radials in the 315 size on my Challenger weight..

Based on the information provided, the calculated inflation pressure for your tires is 29 PSI cold pressure.
For drag radials, a burn out is recommended in order to bring the tire temperature up between 160-220 degrees. At the track it is advised to start with 20 PSI and decrease in .5 increments till you get your desired result. You do not want to go any lower than 15 PSI as this may result in rim slip.

I have the Nitto NTO5 R's and run at 25 cold. They go to 26-27 when driving and have zero issues. Even at 25 cold I don't get 100% tread contact across. Dash lights are on, doesn't bother me for tire PSI.

I keep my Nitto 315 20's 555R2's at 30psi cold, but don't have them on the car much.
I normally have the M/T 315 17's on the car most the time to go to track, 28psi for there & back home & 20psi at the track.

I keep both the 315 555R2’s and the the NT05R at 26-27 psi cold for street use. With no burn out they do pretty good on the street, ran this 11.6 last night with a 2.08 60’ and a 3.7 0-60
I run 315/50-17 MT Street R’s at the track at around 17-18 psi cold, did a 1.39 60’ with them once and ran a 9.998 1/4, my best ever and only 9 second pass. (M6 Challenger)
My goal is 10.9xx street 1/4’s, no burn out, just launch like from a red light. These passes on 93, Be back on corn soon and I see 9.x coming before Fall arrives 🤞

Cars very consistent of late with the new steel bell housing, shifts butter smooth now. Nitto’s are my street tires hands down.

I think the street sweet spot would be between 23 to 25, I'm going to try 24 cold psi and see what the driving psi will be and also my tire wear. My tires are really close to needing replacing, I have about 1/32 to hitting the wear bars.

I choose my tires according to UNIFORM TIRE QUALITY GRADE (UTQG)
Treadwear ratings.
NITTO NT555 G2
ratings are 320, the factory Perelli's Zero Nero's are 400

I'm currently running
HANKOOK VENTUS S1 EVO2 K117A 315 /35 R20 110Y XL BSW

It has a tread-wear rating of 220 and has done excellent for about 20,000 miles but I can't find them for sale at Discount Tire any longer. Anything above 220 would be useless to me. I'm trying to find a tire that they sell at Discount tire that has a tread-wear of 160 to 180. My best 0-60 with the Hankooks is 2.9 seconds according to the dashboard, I never took it to the track.


PIRELLIP ZERO 315 /35 R20 106Y SL BSW FE

has a treadwear of 160 which I'm going to try out within the next week or so.

I got the best result on the street having Nitto 555r2 at 28 cold and getting them to 30 warm. Driving normal I just keep them 30 cold and 32 warm

I read once that there is no universal standard for treadwear ratings for all manufacturers to hold to, it's only a standard they use within their own brand. So Pirelli 400 vs Nitto 400 isn't necessarily going to be the same treadwear. Pirelli 400 vs Pirelli 160, the 160 will be much softer of course.

Alot left in the car with that trap speed. As we all know, street launching these cars is the trick. I did not run 315s (though measurements said it would fit) but on my 305 MT Street SS and Nitto 555Rs I ran at around 28 cold on the street. had even wear all around (front OEM, rears 20 x 11). I was also anal and left the tire pressure display on at all times so I could watch the changes real time.

Yea, no doubt could do better time wise if it can be applied better in the first half of that mph lol. My best street trap speed on corn was 142 so even with that 60’ time I’ll knock 6 tenths off up top I’m hoping to get in the 10’s on the street on the 315 Nitto’s🤞

30 psi. in my 315's. But I baby the shit out my car so psi don't really matter to me.
