I know your car doesn’t like just roll down the road but mine does LOL. After jumping in and out of my various rides it’s incredible how my Hellcats just seem to roll down the road with little to no resistance. I have the Ford Mustang GT500 and its night and day feel on drag resistance to my Hellcats. Is it the gearing that possibly makes a difference? I don’t feel it is and once again I have Toyotas as well and same story the Supra and Avalon do not just free wheel down the road like my Hellcats. When I drive the GT500 she is a push all the time to maintain higher speeds and as an example my Charger Hellcat she is like holly crap i have to use the brakes more often LOL. I mean 70 plus is nothing and with the others its like your struggling to maintain those higher speeds. And once again I am speaking cars and if I change over to the truck side holly crap my Ford Tremor just hauls ass like nothing over say my Ram 1500 Limited. Anyways just curious if others feel the same thing I do.

There is something going on for sure. There are 25 speed limits by my house and the Daytona had no issues staying there or under. The same roads with Hellcat it will get up to 30 and stay there with my foot off the gas, it doesn't want to slow down. It is almost like it is trying to maintain a speed

It weighs a lot more than the Mustang. Maybe it just has more momentum? Usually the brakes drag some. Maybe the Brembos are designed to have less drag than other types of disc brakes?

My Challenger will hold 30mph through my neighborhood, once I have accelerated up to that speed, without me ever touching the gas again.

Just idling through the neighborhood at 2k rpms and 30 mph until I hit the brakes.

What gearing do you have? My 3.09’s seem aggressive and so it doesnt feel like it coasts as much as it wants to sort of eat the road lol. Hard to explain.

And I would not say its rolling... hard to explain. More like effortless. I don't get the sense the car is "trying" or "gutting it out" when you're on it. You can get quick fast. But I've said this before and I'll say it again - this is the best grand tourer ever in my opinion. Can kick it in the slats and really move, or just tool along with the cruise set at 90 and relax.

EDIT: on the 309s, I mentioned elsewhere that I think this would be too aggressive for the way I use the car (mainly street). Hard enough as it is to launch this thing, 309 must be nuts. On the strip I'm sure it can make a noticeable difference, but that's just not where I get to go often.

Mine seems to coast along pretty good with no throttle input as well. It can actually be a disadvantage in radar encounters as you can't just lift the throttle and expect it to slow down.
In this car, you HAVE to brake, but not hard enough to nose dive the car and arouse suspicion !

Not a Cat, but my SXT coasts forever. I usually coast through town.

I'm glad mine doesn't idle at 2,000 rpm.

Mine doesn't idle at 2k rims when stationary, it drops to 800 ish. But, when driving through my neighborhood, if I take my foot off the gas the rpms tend to not want to drop below 2k.

Hmm, I'll have to try that sometime. Taking my foot off the gas, that is.

Although, when I come back home I keep the speed down on the gravel driveway, which initially slopes down, at 5 mph or so. Used to lock it in 1st gear, but that's a bit too slow at idle, so these days I tap the brakes a couple of times instead.

And as I recall, the '19 has no problems doing the same.

Encountered this problem this afternoon, happily gliding along when I saw a Police car turn on behind me, foot off gas my head saying..slow down..slow down..slow down..I can't show brake lights o_O

In my opinion it's the transmission.that makes the difference. It's always in the right gear for the situation.
