Well what about those old C5 twin Turbo vettes.. I’ve seen those run like high 8s or low 9s..

But it wasn't bought off the showroom floor, I'd wager, and probably wasn't good for grocery getting.

But that's not my point - I'm not saying the car is "better" than ICE; I am saying that it exists, and we have to be ready to deal with it, and its performance is pretty damn impressive straight out the box. Saying we're not interested in it does not change the fact that it dusts 99% of cars it comes up against. I for one am hugely impressed, and "banning" talking about it is no answer. What I want to see is the Dodge rival to this thing. Since I first bought the Charger I wanted to see a front hub electric motor version (taking the weight penalty, etc...) because if we had AWD these cars would be astonishing (and ICE AWD on this platform is impossible - no way they'd spend the money).

Not saying there aren't more out there (there's always someone faster than you), just saying "I" have not seen them run head to head and beat them.

And I still have to say, the consistency of these things is freaking ridiculous. 9.2XX almost every single time, no matter what. One thing that indicates to me is that there is still a lot left in the car, if you wanted to push the envelope.

Good point; and I think it won't have to do with EPA (which is about emissions), I think it'll have do to with safety. If we have every tom dick and harry running around with low 9 second cars and 3 months of experience behind the wheel its going to become a safety issue.

I don’t follow tesla very close. But I beleive they cancelled the plaid + or roadrunner I’m not to sure what the name was. It was supposed to be their fastest vehicle.

Wasn't bought off the showroom floor that way but I also had a 4th of the money into it by comparison. It was also my daily driver in the summer so yes it was a grocery getter

Don't follow that, but that is interesting. Wonder what the reason was, if not safety. Price would seem to not be a problem, plenty of money bags willing to pay through nose for electric speed.
