Which cam would you choose with a 426, thitek heads and the 2.4 charger? Right now I have a demon cam with no locker.

I’ve been staring at cam specs for the last 2 days trying to decide what would be best. Do you have any specs you are looking at now ?

My mechanic thinks I should stick with the demon cam. It makes good power and is safe for ptv clearance. No phasers/ locks needed which reduce power.

Demon cam is pretty good and amazing streetability. There is power to be had with a different cam. Nothing super crazy. How hard do you want to spin it?

Right around 6600 or so at the strip. The car is useless on the street.

As far as off the shelf.

There are some cams I really do not like off the shelf. And they do not perform well at the track. I have no experience with this one posted above but the specs should get tou close to what tou want. But better than some of the others. I just did a car with the HHP cam and those specs weren’t bad. The mmx nsr cam has not been performing well at the track and the demon cam would be better than that one.

Having a vvt cam i dont think it is as critical putting a cam in it. It takes around 30hp to gain 1 mph at 9.00. Most cams are only going to give that so a lot of money to spend for not a lot of gain. My friend with the 86 mustang with a coyote engine has been in the 7s with factory cams. I would run a demon/redeye cam if the price was right for it. Way more power to be had with a bigger supercharger or more boost.

I do not know much about cams. But I do know on a supercharged car there is not the scavenging effect of a na engine. With a na engine tight LSA ‘s work. With our cars I think you want a wide LSA. That cam motion cam seems like it would work. But I will probably stick with the demon cam.

Hpindy cam grind is almost identical an I`m using that cammotion cam. we both like it. VVT needs to be locked.

OST’s Demon plus cam is close to Indy’s

Good amount of lift, not much if any overlap, a bit lumpy sounding still, good mid and top end power cam good for ported or bigger heads and blower.

The wide LSA is good for a supercharged vehicle.

This that cam, it’s a good grind for big boost with big intake valves like in the Thitek heads

This the cam Cam Motion suggested to me to use on my first build. I wanted to keep VVT so I didn’t go with it. Probably make 40-59 or more hp with it.

Very good pretty radical blower cam without overlap with probably lots of torque and torque is time C31C9B0B-A105-421A-BCA6-AF7FE6AABA6C.png 9D67099B-F802-4E76-971C-742843947C2D.png

I'm also looking in to cams.. the guys at Tapped performance has their RedEye Rumble that they recommended to me with my stock displacement build. Leaning towards this cam and the 2.200"/1.65" dual spring thiteks. 234/248, 611/611. Sounds absolutely wicked

I bet it does sound wicked but allot of overlap for a blower cam, you’re going to be blowing boost right out the exhaust. Based on specs given Not a very Street friendly cam IMO.

if Lsa is 113 like @16GoManGoHC2 is showing you won’t be happy

If there is overlap in this cam which there probably is with a lsa of 113 you will probably lose power. For street ability I think I will just stick with the Demon cam.

It’s what I run and what the Drmon 170 still runs, one of the few carry over parts from the demon engine. Millions and millions spent on R&D and they kept the cam exactly the same for some good reasonS I’m sure.

The car still has to pass emissions an that would be the main reason for staying with that cam.
