Just noticed my uconnect screen in the upper left hand corner is bubbling up underneath the screen, I have heard of this happening to others, anyone in here experience this?

Just figures, I just got my dash hydrodipped and now it needs to be removed again to replace this POS Uconnect head unit FML!!

Just the thought of having to go to the dealer makes me sick, thank God for extended warranty! Screenshot_20210613-105328_Gallery.jpg

There is a screen protector on it yes but if you look closely the protector is smaller than the actual screen and the bubbles go past the screen protector, just noticed top middle is also bubbling ugh...

This uconnect screen is toast, dealer visit this week UGH...

Dealer replaced the screen on our DSRT under extended warranty. Would’ve been about $850 parts and labor if I remember right

We had the same issue with our 2018 challenger. Dealer replaced it at the end of our warranty. They said they had never seen it. Well you and I are the lucky ones. It took 2 months or so last year to come in. It got worst and worst as time went on

I bought the 6 year 60k extended warranty right before my bumper to bumper ran out, it's about to pay for itself!

Our screen cracked and it’s the only thing we’ve claimed for the dsrt. I got the extended warranty on my ram and never used one penny of it so when it came time to do the hc I passed. Plus it’s modded lol

Happened to my Durango (also an '18). Defect in all the screens manufactured for that model year & FCA is covering it, even for original owners who are out of warranty.

It seems to primarily be an issue in hot/humid states, so your NY dealers have probably not see/dealt with a lot of it.

You may need to call Dodge & get them involved.

The bubble will spread & eventually the screen begins to take on a life of it's own, activating 'buttons' randomly

It's already getting worse, here's a picture of the screen the bubble in the middle has gotten bigger since yesterday, going to the dealer tomorrow so they can look at it. Resized_20210614_105945.jpeg

How hot is it getting where you are? Car garaged? Exposed to sunlight for 10 hours a day a work?

Mine was just like that, the 2 bubbles eventually joined up & that's when the screen began acting like it was possessed !

Took almost 4 weeks for them to get the replacement unit (late last fall), install was about 1 hour.

Hellcat is garaged, never gets below 60 degrees in the winter and no more that 75 in the summer, fully limo tinted except for the front windshield.

It's a weekend toy and really doesn't get used in the winter at all.

Off to the dealer in the am they just want to see it, I don't have to leave it there and I've already removed the dashboard to access it, I just got my dashboard hydrodipped and I just don't trust these guys to remove anything without scratching it up.

Mine was painless, car never left the service drive.
SW came out, looked @ the screen, plugged in her OBID thingy, made a few taps on her wireless pad & said see ya in 3 - 4 weeks.

Nice!

That's how mine just went, drove in did the paperwork parked it myself, guy came out looked at it, also looked at my rear stripe on the bumper also coming up a tad, warranty said the most 2 weeks or earlier for the parts to come in.

Not to jinx it but having a good dealer really does make or break going there as much as I despise it.

Not reinstalling the dashboard until it's fixed so I'll be driving it here and there a tad naked 🙂

So Dodge calls me and tells me the head unit should be at the dealer first which was yesterday, so I ask is it new or refurbished? She tells me refurbished.

Not surprising but all the colors, functionality better match the one they pull out or this will go on until they get me one that does or get me a new one.

Correct me if I'm wrong but these had units are made by Harman Kardon, I seen the sticker of one of them and that was the manufacturer.

BTW the bubbles are now twice as big on the screen and getting bigger

As I noted before they never replace with a new unit. Only refurb. and if here isn't one ready to go out, you just have to wait until one comes in and is sent out for repair before they send it to you. worst customer service philosophy ever.

I had to wait 2 months for mine or maybe just shy of that. It was crazy.

We only had to wait one week for our screen. But my wife corrected me last night while we were talking about the extended warranty. The part was about 850 and the labor was around 400 so we would have been out around 1250😳

That's crazy $$ for the labor. They replaced mine in about 1 hour & that included copying my settings from the old to new unit !
