Not sure if this is the best place for this, but if there's a better forum topic to put this in, please let me know!

So has anyone received this emissions testing offer? Where they want to take your hellcat for 5-8 weeks for testing to comply with government regulations, for $500 payment?

I don't have a problem with the offer, but I do have a problem with the vehicle they're offering for us to use in the meantime...they don't specify, but I called them the last time I received this offer, and they pretty much said it would be a "generic" car (probably a base-level Journey or something)...that doesn't work for me! If you're driving my $70k+ car, I expect something similar in return!
And it seems like a good marketing opportunity...give me a chance to get an extended test drive in a Durango Hellcat or Trackhawk...and I might like it enough that I need to trade in my Explorer ST (daily) for one. I know, there'd be concern about what kind of condition they'd get the car back in, but you're dealing with hellcat owners here, so they know how to handle the power, and they could sign an agreement or two, etc.

I'm sorry, but for me, just $500 or frankly, even $1000 is not enough for you to do who knows what to my precious, without an "equal" vehicle to drive in the meantime.

I've never had the offer (since I've never had a HC) but I remember a similar thread probably a few years ago (and probably on that 'other' site). It would be a hard pass for me though. As you said, not enough $, no comparable replacement, who knows who has access to your car for that time and how they'd treat it. Too much could go wrong. No thanks.

This is such a SCAM to the MAX and no one here agree to it!!!!!! They will go after Dodge for possible Emissions cheating to get a big pay out. Thats all they want is more and more money the EPA that is. The FINES that are associated with any variances from what these cars are claiming is the goal. And talk about total Bullshit to the max we all already paid a GAS GUZZLER tax. I mean HELLO WTF and if anything we should get a REFUND. These cars driving moderately get better than 20mpg but yeh forget it that goes nowhere.

$500 for up to two months...who the hell would take that deal?
I would however be up for $1,500 per day for 56 days (8 weeks). Full term payment up front with no discount for early return. Car must be returned detailed, with full tank of gas, and in the same condition as it was received, so I can sell it and get a new one.

If they were serious about it they would be buying cars, not paying peanuts to use yours. This might be a reasonable offer for 1 hour, you and you alone drive the car. Even then I would want more than 500 per hour to use my car.
