Personally, I think there are plenty of individual forums here that address special or particular interests, be they political, car, car-speicific (Challenger, for example), jokes, guns, drag racing, road racing, etc... if you don't like some of those, I think it can be set to ignore (I'm not expert at the forum business). However, I wouldn't characterize the lack of a focus on a particular area as somehow a failing. This place is a communicty, and communities always have diverse interests. Pay attention to those you like, and pass on those you don't. Being as its a free country, folks are always free to start their own website and ruthlessly weed out any discussions they think don't fit. However, in my experience, those do not generally do very well. Slow moving; not much traffic; not much interest. But everyone is free to do what they like, and I support all of that.

I worried about warranty when I had one. I'm still stock, but I have no intentions of racing my HC, I have motorcycles for road racing, I only race on closed courses and am bored by drag racing. I used to drag race but became bored by it. Can't take waiting for hours to experience 20 seconds of excitement. Hence my switch to road racing. Really enjoy endurance racing as long as it's a road course. I have no time for ovals. 20150321_093335.jpg

For my part, I am considering ramping up my 2016 Expedition EL 4x4 to about 650 at the crank. Tend to dyno at 600 ft-lbs at 3000 RPM and 560 RWHP at 5700 rpm with this configuration, in 2WD with 3.15 gears. I'm thinking with the 3.73 I have on the EL and the 4WD it ought to be pretty fun to mess with. The 2WD runs around a 4.6 or 4.7 zero to sixty with one person, and 5.0 zero to sixty with 5 big old boys in it. Should be enough to play with the "sport truck" crowd and surprise a few stock sports cars. And it's cheap (comparatively). Nothing compared to the HC, obviously, but I like to mess with most cars I have. This would be a fun project for me.

This - the wait and the freaking distance to the local track have really done away with my drag racing since children have appeared. I even toyed with getting some timing gear and doing pop up drag meets... but the illegality of this doesn't go well with other requirements in my life.

Some of us are trying  Next season i'll have more to share. While the car is down for winter storage i'll be swapping the hood to Andersons Carbon Fiber. Was considering the Kenne Bell cowl style hood but looks like the 2021 Drag pak is sticking with the older style. I'm guessing it's more aerodynamic. Planning to go 200+mph so don't want additional drag.

The cowl hood has less drag. If you look at it from the side you can see how it reduces the angle and frontal area of the windshield. In other words.... the increased slope of hood makes it integrate with the angle of the windshield better. Kenne Bell says it reduces the “umbrella effect” over the stock hood. Especially the Demon hood. The other thing it does is heat extraction. The air in the front goes directly over the top of the engine and out the back of the hood. And..... it gives you the room to lift that Whipple with the plenum spacers made by Gearhead without spacing the cradle. That is worth a hundred horsepower with zero downside.

None yet but I talked to Parker and Zach from All Angles Design at Challengerfest and am eyeing their Drag Pack setup.

Thanks Speedy and you’re always a great advisor to the car world. And since I do not modify my cars and race them that truly takes me out of many of the tech forums. Just not my thing and its great its your thing and can honestly say if this site forum was as strict as others are on content than I wouldn’t visit it as much. And I am sure I can talk for others here that aren’t even Mopar owners per se anymore as well who have sold their Hellcats. I think its great we can all talk outside of cars and still be a community. And the times we are seeing are like none in our lifetime and its nice to know their are the good old boys still holding this country together. And honestly DODGE has so screwed the POOCH in my opinion being NOTHING and I mean NOTHING on teasing us of the next generation of products. And sure we have awesome cars and products but Dodge has lost the excitement IMO. The Good Old Days was the anticipation of something bigger and badder coming our way and yeah nothing and nothing. So summing it up yes car talk is great and its still ongoing and many threads start on car talk and mods and then they just lose momentum and why is that? Yes their are some very long threads but the new ones are redundant and feel many lose interest. The tire thread, the exhaust thread, the tuner thread, the time slip thread, the trans thread.....etc so I am not so sure that is like gone and not talked about. FORUMS are very difficult to keep people entertained for the long haul and for others to constantly chime in which is why you are speaking up. You feel the need for more of what entertains you over what’s being entertained by the Political agenda LOL. It’s all good and damn would hurry up and make another good information video:geek:

Yep! After the 3.8 Whipple does become available, the goal would be 7.9 seconds without spraying. I would probably have to get more aggressive with the weight reduction. Light weight cradle with coil overs and brakes in the front. I’ll need to take the weight down to a 4000 lb race weight. One thing I won’t do is gut it. I like having a real street car with working stuff like air cond and dash.

The cowl hood looks like it would create more drag at higher speeds to me still, can't know without testing. I do agree they vent heat much better than OEM. Would be ideal to see wind tunnel data to back Kenne Bells claims. Drag pak is doing 7.5 with the older style SRT hood. Always room for improvement in this industry though. Think i'm going to stick with the OEM style for sleeper factor - TX2k's Heavyweight class doesn't allow modified hoods either. "-Super charger must fit under factory style hood no cut hoods for fitment" :censored:

Kenne Bell Cowl Fiberglass hood - $899.00 + $220.00 shipping - $1119 total
  • Increases HP Via Lower Restriction, Cooler Temps and Reduced “Underhood Umbrella Effect.”
  • Vents and Reduces Underhood Pressure and Front End Lift.
  • Vents and Lowers Underhood Temperature.
  • Eliminates Stock Hood Air Flow Restriction.

How has your transmission/oem diff survived the torture this past season. That 8.378 @ 164.99mph pass was insane.

I’m as guilty as anyone for off topic posts, but I’m not a racer/modder so there aren’t many things left to be said about oil and catch cans. That said, I love reading all the racing and build threads.

Also, there’s never been a year quite like this, and this place is therapeutic for my politically, pandemicly, and racially battered brain. Lots of good folks here to unload on. Hellcatforum.org is cheaper than a shrink. [biggrin]
